Question: Since the boundary conditions are symmetrical, why does the flow rotate counterclockwise and not clockwise? Shouldn't the flow have no preference?

It is due grtavity and heat flux, since the g is in the negavtive z and heat moves from left to right. you get this result.

How can I find the nusselts number of the enclosure?

go in report and choose what metric you want to compute and how in the drop down menus. I used surface integral for vertex average over the surface you want , not sure what the characteristic length would be though..
