I think Scott’s paranoia mimics Stark’s after the first Avengers. He’s now so concerned with his reality after discovering knowledge of a threat beyond his understanding.

I didn't think of Tony, I was thinking Scott is basically Loki just on Earth which is 100X worse. There's no Avengers (like the TVA) for Scott to tell, so what can he do if the end is coming.

To be fair Janet did seem really concerned about Scott going down there, she broke down exactly what to do and stay away from, she knew where he was going. To me she seemed nervous.

She basically knew there was a monster at the bottom of the sea. She reacted differently to Scott taking a ‘dip’ to get some healing particles compared to Cassie making a huge splash by dropping something that would sink to the bottom.

I kept thinking what an incredible ending it would’ve been if it had taken Cassie months to figure out the portal at the end, and by the time Scott & Hope make it back up to Earth, so much has changed. Would’ve been a hell of a way to kick off phase 5.

Hey Erik! Great breakdown! I think Janet didn't mind Scott entering the quantum realm at first because he didn't go deep enough to get to Kang's level. As we saw in the first and second ant-man film, Scott is getting smaller and smaller and thus continues into the quantum realm. But now she was panicked because Cassie really sent a signal down like an antenna from space. And that kang would catch this signal..
@griffith124
@griffith124 Жыл бұрын
I watched the breakdown on NR. But I noticed a great detail during the fight scene with Kang and the resistance. When the fire blasts guy(sorry I forgot his name) Kang reverts his blast into Kang Kinetic energy just like Shang Chi did with his fight with his dad!

My theory, Janet was willing to send Scott down because it was a one device trip that they totally controlled who went down and when they came back. She didn't realize that there could be 2 way communication between dimensions with another device.
@kokosworldofficial
@kokosworldofficial Жыл бұрын
Yeahhhh and on top of that the only reason they were able to get pulled down there was because modok happened to be there! I don’t think Janet even knew about him to begin with too even speculate him being alive and in connection with Kang.

One of the issues I had with this movie was the "time" continuity error/plot hole (although, maybe it was intentional). His whole relationship with Cassie and Hope in this movie was as if he had only been back for a few days. He didn't know about her suit or her secret quantum studies or her regular arrests (that most recent being for tent cities for the recently unblipped); it very much felt like they were both still feeling each other out. But Scott had enough time to write a book, record an audiobook version, have his suit upgraded and build rapport with the Coffee shop guy. Skipping the fact that Cassie went from a small child to a nearly-adult woman with a combat suit and some amount of "superhero training", this move is really hard to follow chronologically.

Like what if Kang can only be defeated if every single avenger went through a probability storm to defeat him since he defeated avengers countless times before but because only he could have variants. Are we sure Cassie created the portal in a few minutes? It was a few minutes for Scott and Hope but time works differently there as we found out from Endgame. No, it wasn't years but it could have been weeks or months? I know that's still fast but with Hank and Janet helping, it's not impossible. Just a thought.

Eric Voss telling me I don’t wanna work for him but than continues to speak to my soul!!! Man everytime I watch any MCU content that’s all I do is see so much more than all my friends and it’s important to me that my friends know what I know and see what I see when I watch them so they know how much work and detail goes into ever single shot in all these movies it’s insane!! I just feel like sometimes people don’t realize how much work goes into these movies and all they see is a movie that they liked or didn’t like and forget that this is a bigger universe that’s got Easter eggs throughout every second that could tie back to a throw away line from a movie that came out in 2013 or something and it’s absolutely insane and so exciting to me!

I think I have a theory of what happens in the storm of possibilities when the Scott’s get big and they unravel. So I saw a clip today from civil war and it’s when scott gets big for the first time and he tells cap to wait for his signal and that he doesn’t know if it will work or he will tear himself in half. So the Scott’s that get big maybe are Scott’s that haven’t mastered that trick and are tearing themselves in half. I thinks that’s what happening there.

I'll carry a little disappointment later on in the MCU when we get _The Council of Reeds_ and _The Counsel of Doom_ that Kangs grouping of Variants is not part of the same naming scheme... But _The Kang Dynasty_ is a really badass and cool title for it. Hell, we might just get _The Richards Dynasty_ (or _The Reed Dynasty)_ and _The Dynasty of Doom..._ so we'll see. Hahaha

An issue with this movie is it tells instead of show, especially in terms of Kang’s power. A flashback scene with him killing the Avengers would’ve been much more effective than having him just say it. Instead what the film shows us is his energy field taken down by Modok before he is then carried away by ants and then finally outdone in a fist fight by Antman. Because of this movie, anything about Kang’s strength or threat to the marvel universe is simply not believable.

Thanos saw himself as inevitable. He will always be no matter what. In his view, he would always be destined to snap his wish into reality. Kang in contrast sees himself as the result of various different possibilities. There isn’t one result that he is destined to and so his entire mission is to put the right inputs in place so the end possibility can be a favorable one. The avengers defeated the idea of one single being inevitable but then in that opened themselves to the threat of countless possibilities, with not any one of those possibilities being a foregone conclusion.

I get frustrated when people rip movies apart and lose the magic of just going to a movie and being in the world. Sure, all movies will have plot holes and stumbles...the question is was the movie fun (or scary or thrilling, etc). ? You somehow manage to celebrate the big picture and also breakdown the details.

At the end was a SECOND time Kang could've escaped the Quantum Realm. Instead of blasting Scott before he entered the portal, he could've let Scott leave because his sphere was still there holding that portal open. I think that reinforces Kangs' penchant for anger and revenge. As smart as he is, his thought process falters when he's consumed with revenge.

I myself enjoyed the movie! To me it felt more of a Kang origin story than the end of the Ant-Man trilogy which I didn't mind at all. Can't want for the Loki season 2! I think you were spot on on the MODOK character, whatever they were trying to do with him felt very flat. But here is my theory, since Kang has seen it all, all characters, he'd obviously seen MODOK and copied the character to Darren Cross... I hope we still get to see the actual character in our main universe some day...

When he is enlarged it doesn’t last and he loses the ability to stay enlarged, thus that enlarged version ultimately ends. So it’s like when sylvie hides In catastrophic events ultimately that time line ends or unravels.
