I enjoyed the "Drake Lake" on my southbound journey; however we paid the price on the northbound return. 10-meter waves don't compare to what you were hit with. But, I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

@@prajjwalshivhare4106 haha you're okay. No travel hacks, honestly I'm just grateful I'm from Australia and had a good job. I made some money from investments. However now the focus is to travel longer term and the keys to that are: Destination - certain places are simply cheaper, India, Iran, Phillipines, Indonesia, most of South East Asian honestly. Less cheap but not that expensive is eastern Europe, Bolivia, Paraguay. Otherwise I strongly recommend Couchsurfing for accomodation, hitchhiking and volunteering whilst travelling. I just spent 10 days at a monastery in Ladakh volunteering
