Interesting. I would think this would be waaay overkill for that, given that it's a 32 in/out box. A Zen Studio would be much better suited for that application. But hey, whatever works.

This is what I use as well. I’m still having a hard time wrapping my brain around the control panel... I just use it with the default settings and route everything in my DAW (Pro Tools). But I would love to be able to route a headphone mix for the talent within the control panel instead of through Pro Tools to help decrease latency. Have you used it in that way?

Hey warren, how are you? I’ve a studio in Brazil and I’m looking for an interface that gives me 32 I/O. My first option was Presonus Quantum 4848, but I noticed it was discontinued and there’re some people with problems without answers in the company website… Then I discovered Orion 32 + Gen 3, did some research and noticed some people complaining about the company support… Im in Brazil and it’s very expensive to send an unit to be replaced, and it takes time either. So it’s much better if it’s a reliable equipment… Did you ever hear about problems with Orions 32? Now a days I have two VRS 8, but some of their outs are completely failed and they don’t work well together. I really need a solution here! Kkkk My system should be: 32 inputs into the interface, then 32 outs into my analog console (Soundcraft GB8). Do you think Orion is a good choice?

What DAW ru using primarily??? I have issues with negative delay when trying to run outboard inserts in PT. Its a known issue with these...

You can double click on the numbers in the control panel and name your channels - so you don't have to remember what you have where anymore

How do you monitor out of this? Do you just use a pair of outs? Or?

Yes, you just use whatever analog or digital outputs you'd like. The routing matrix allows you to assign any output as the main.

Interested in the Orion but, how many years until the app doesn’t work and it’s worth dust. The same concern I have for my clarett pre 8x If someone could make a 32chan rack , with knobs and I/o on front panel with no actual need for an APp to configure, it would be amazing. Something that can last forever

lets say I have an 1176 and an LA-2a.. could I run the vocal out of PT on hardware inset 1 into my 1176 and then route that 1176 into my LA-2a and then back into pro tools with the Digital patch-bay? Thanks

They're fantastic units, glad you dig yours too. Apparently you can now daisy-chain two units for either USB use or MADI.

It is weird - took me a while to understand too. Once you get into it though, it's really flexible.
