finally finished watching. Part of the reason Cajon pass is so much harder is because it does the same climb you just did in much less distance. High desert is about the same height at both passes, but the Soledad Canyon route is four times as long as the Cajon route. Also yes, that siding at 23:00 is where UP parks freight trains to wait for their turn in the canyon or to switch crews.

The mountain textures aren’t low resolution, that’s how they look irl. You might be confused that they don’t have many trees, but it’s a very arid environment, so it’s very barren, just like in the game.

Those aren’t cacti. Those plants you mentioned are Joshua Trees, which can only be found in the SoCal High Desert. They can’t be found naturally anywhere else in the world. They aren’t cacti at all, but actual trees! Joshua Tree National Park is named after these trees. As for the scenery, the mountains are actually rendered pretty accurately to real life. Those lower hills and mountains are not very rocky, and they’re quite smooth looking. Train Sim actually did a decent job on these. Trust me. I’m a SoCal native and have ridden this route myself numerous times in real life.

Blu, i got a challenge for derail valley, you should do sandbox mode, have a long train, have the train become a runaway, and use a diffrent engine to couple up and try to slow and stop the runaway

Hey blu is there a reason my trains are getting shorter? They’ve went from 4000-6000 ft to barely 40 cars scenarios calling for 60 cars 6 engines only 34 cars 4 engines the longer I play the shorter they get it’s like I’m being punished for paying to play this game
