Is there another type of antenna that would work better and hold up during tropical storms?

Actually this one lasted over 5 years and couple of storms/hurricanes. My bet is that a bird caused the first damaged to the cord which led to the storm doing the rest. I’m moving to a remote shack and using an Explorer 14 there.

Yes. Already have the fiberglass to repair the broken element. All cords and Kevlar are fine. Will replace rings (for maintenance purpose). It should be good to go on the new location.
