I hope you could all appreciate the humor carried by the title. This video is ultimately a check up on DoD two months since i left to see the state of the game and keep you all informed.. somewhat. The new dragons DO look really, really good. The sounds also match them. It's incredible to see how much promise the game shows and just how that promise is completely and totally obliterated by abuse of copyright, lies, bad practices and more. Not to mention a community that will actively threaten physical violence at the pull of a trigger. I wish DoD had gone differently but to date it's still just using marketplace assets as "rewards" for people. I regret so fucking much being a youtuber and jumping on this game giving it so much attention because i feel like i let the views, hype and false promises shine through. I was shown so much promise with this game and so many cool concepts under misrepresented conditions it's not even funny. That resulted in my failure as a creator to keep some form of integral bar for game devs held above all. I feel terrible every single day. Not just because of the threats against my dog and i, but what happened to other creators. When i made my video it pulled the trigger for so many other creators to make videos and get dragged into this. I should have been the only one to get any form of shit for this all, not the rest of the people who spoke up after.

Don't feel so terrible. An open world dragon survival game speaks to the soul of the gamer- Tales of these beasts are what our little gamer hearts thrive on (mostly), especially those of us who started off with table tops like D&D, or grew up reading medieval fantasy books. Excitement can make us blind, or cast a haze on things that would normally raise the red flags. It's not your fault that another person decided to use that to their advantage and capitalize on a thing we all desire. That's business- but usually you get more bang for your buck. In the end it's how you continue on- update us. Keep things in the open. Don't let this ship sail on without the scrutiny it deserves. Much Puppentines love to your doggo!

@@meanswing1933 Which is kinda the problem Toot isn't understand. They don't 'Lack Money' anymore, they literally can now fund a game to probably match The Isle on a smaller scale. They can hire Coders to code what they want, they can hire Artists to model what they needed, and so on. They have the money from the Kickstarter, and the money from however many copies were sold on Steam. They HAVE the money. And yet, out of half a million dollars, they only spent $40ish buying a stock placeholder model, instead of hiring someone to make them one instead. Or fixing the bugs. Or hiring a Team to fix and replace the placeholders with actual custom DoD content. So WHERE is the money? And WHERE is it being spent? WHY isn't the game improving, when it has the MONEY to actually do so.

The fact that you even stuck with this game longer than anyone else did should have been proof that you really did want this game to succeed, as did everyone else who saw the potential of this game. Yet the second you couldn’t take any more, all the triggered 9-year olds jumped on their computers and started threats. Saying they were going to kill your dog. Truly despicable people who threatened you over a broken game. You shouldn’t feel bad for trying to do a good deed for a new and developing game. The last update shows a multiplayer test between the differing races, dragons, dragon people, humans, stealing mechanics, catching, eating. It's looking to come along really well. Past videos even show the dragons able to pick up bombs with their front and rear feet and drop them on villages. This is a project that should get attention.

If that's outright true, and in my mind it's an impossibility to think if it's true or not, the concept art for the dragons, especially the drake and amphiptere, don't have much reason for existence if pre-existing assets will scrap them in their place or something....It's a shame. @@KillerDragon117 Ppl saw the clip about the game, they wanted to try it out for themself + It was a special date for Jao (if you can call it that), his dad passed away on that date (when the server went online for the public) 2-3 year ago. It is idd to early to call it a game, its more or less a tect demo at this point, i have the game, tho, cant say i have played it much (trying to solo), but, without any of the AI on or any food to hunt, i will simple stave before my dragon become a adult, making it able to fly and fight the IA (whereever they might be). I am sure i heard that our dragons are...omnivour? (eating both plants and meat), tho, i dont think there are any plants ingame atm that we can even eat atm :(

Anths video was the reason I even decided to back the game, while I don't blame Anth for me backing the game I still felt like it had something to do with it. As a backer of DoD I don't like where the game is at either because I feel like concept art is completely outpacing development. (Which is kinda devious in my opinion.) WELL coming from an artist myself, art doesn't take quite as long as animations and rigging and such, never mind actually coding the creature in the game. the guy doing the art was hired ONLY to do the art and since he isn't also putting the game together it makes sense he'd be done quicker. that said, i really feel like DoD became public way too soon and much more features should have been added, as well as the custom models for the three promised dragons from the kickstarter

Anthomnia. You can't be held accountable for doing something you didn't even know was gonna happen. It's a bit silly in my mind to think this is somehow this is all your fault. Yes. You did promote the game but because you generally thought it was legitimate, and it was going to be awesome. Yes, your video did blow up and it got a lot more funding and a lot more attention because we're all pretty desperate for a dragon game, and a dragon game that's kind of like the Isle? Anth was the reason I found the game. I fell in love with it immediately, and I loved the support it got in the beginning. Then the drama happened. I still play today because I think that (hopefully) Jao and his team (Except Simon, you're doing amazing sweetie) will get their act together and start producing what they promised. A game should not cause someone stress or anxiety or make them want to quit recording, nor should it make fake promises when they are continuing to use "placeholders". Jao and his team need to step up and start making real changes to their game.

The main thing about it's development currently is that all the newly revealed concepts recently look like other creatures from other franchises. I know people have already pointed it out, but I'm like is this the main concept artist just not caring about the designs or is this Jao telling the artist to make these dragons look like other things? I really do hope this game succeeds and becomes what we hope it will be. Hearing those sounds from those dragons brings tears to my eyes because it's yet another childhood dream coming true, just like The Isle, just like some of you people reading this comment. I really hope (because I've no idea how Jao is creating the game) that he is really going to come through on this, and that all those zealots of the game are right; That the game will be as awesome or better than what was promised. Not gonna lie, that whole ban thing gave me an idea... What if, in a game, as a final challenge that you have access to and have every choice to attempt, is like a EXTREMELY hardcore battle between you and some entity. And let’s just say to choose to try the challenge. You load it up and you’re alone with the entity that will test your abilities that you’ve developed over the previous time you’ve played the game. Now, here’s the good part... The entity, of whatever sort, warns you that you have a limited amount of lives during the entirety of the challenge. And when you loose every life, *you will loose every bit of progress that you’ve gathered throughout the game and will be locked out of the game immediately.* But of course, you could just delete the game and reinstall it and everything would be back to normal. And maybe the challenge would be locked up forever and you would NOT get a second chance at the challenge. The entity will give you multiple chances to turn back and focus on something else, saying the whole challenge is a waste of time and energy, clearly intending for the player to not try at all. This challenge would be a bonus sort of level or something, and wouldn’t be included with completing the game 100% through. So you could ignore it completely and it wouldn’t do any harm whatsoever. It would be there for the only intention of “Would you really risk it all for the mere ounce of curiosity?” Just something I thought of.

Yea! The back spikes, wing shape, and general over all design of the dragon remind me a ton of a Skrill. Almost too much like a Skrill. Note that the dragon is also flying through a storm, with what looks like lightning around it's wings. Basically, it looks like a Skrill with it's legs removed, even done to the large wing class on the carpels/metacarpals

The best thing that could possibly happen to this game is if the developers behind The Isle took the dragon/fantasy monster ideas and created a separate island/game for them. **Maybe** they could add a select few to the same world their dinosaurs roam. I can completely understand what you mean by feeling a certain way WHILE playing a game and having it be a feeling you shouldn't normally feel whilst playing a game. Most games make you feel "heyy this is fun!" "ohh this isn't very fun..." "wow this game is hard and a grind!" "woah this game is so chill and easy!" that's the usual feels of a game. I have games that started of being "OMG THIS IS SO FUN I AM ADDICTED" to "I feel wrong playing this game now..." and this is all due to EXPERIENCE of playing or while playing.. the connotation of the game created by a personal experience that is otherwise irrelevant (or somewhat relevant) to the game itself. You went into Day of Dragons feeling new things and excitement, that lead to you sharing that new found excitement with your community since you are an entertainer/influencer, which uncovered some unfortunate things, that lead to YOU and YOUR community having things happen to them that were negative, and now when you visit the game, you're plagued and reminded by all of those experiences and that excitement you had is now buried in deep complications. That's why you feel anxiety playing that game, that's why it's hard to be hopeful for this game (since it's not particularly in a state to be very enjoyable...) but knowing you can't really say that flat out because you know first hand what your word might do to you again. I know this all too well because my bf and I along with his friend used to play Apex Legends when it came out, and OMG I was soo addicted I never had so much fun playing a game in AGES.. then things happened where my bf grew extremely jealous of his friend toward me and threaten our relationship so badly I thought it was going to end us for good... I had only wanted to play the game and my intentions was to play and stream with a team I trusted and had fun with.. but outside influences came into play and now I can't play Apex Legends without feeling the same Anxiety I did during the complications I had when last played.. I cannot enjoy Apex Legends because certain parts of the map bring up memories of fights happening because I had given a gun or ammo to his friend when he asked (like a teammate should) despite him getting equivalent if not more benefits for being my bf.. and it's sad cause I loved the game play soooo much... so.. I know the feel.. it's hard...

This is just kinda sad to watch... Hating on a game that is still in the works and practically in open beta. None of the models are in because they are still being planned out and animated. You'll see the first model in the game this summer but apparently people don't have the patience to wait. Games take time and things wont be finished magically within 3 months of its start... @@TAiiNE The game has been in planning for two years and has gone though multiple different programs to try and figure out which engine would work best for it. All in the dream of making the game, he learned those programs on his own while working a day job trying to support himself. Starting, learning, then having to start over with a wildly different program takes lots of time out of the development schedule. The reasoning for changing programs are multiple but the one that indefinitely made him change to Unreal was because of the multiplayer compatibility with Steam. Jao states that learning how to code multiplayer into the game was the most challenging aspect of development so far and that the other programs he started building the game in didn't meet the requirements. He is technically on the third restart for the game at the moment so of course it is still in its beginning stages. And I love how you mentioned that the other KZbinr made the same exact game in no time flat but the only thing similar is the visual components that you saw in their video. It did not run the same at all and didn't have the crucial and highly complicated multiplayer connectivity that DoD has. Underneath the surface, there is nothing in that game and was only built to spread misinformation and doubt. But the bottom line is that before you start bringing up false statements from months ago, please actually do your research and have a little patience with indie studios learning how to make their first games. Heck, try making the game yourself and see what it is like before you tear down others with the same whining words of dramatic KZbinrs.

People wouldn't be hating on it nearly as much had Jao not put it out for sale, to make money off of in its current asset flip form while adding more assets to it and not original work is just plain greedy and a practice you should not be defending. Its a dragon game thats 4 years in the making and still no price tag on it, and the only release ever was a free one for people to help test out new mechanics they were developing and MP features. They are a small team, ya know, like Jao? But unlike Jao, there doing everything themselves, coding, modeling, rigging, animating texturing. etc. like a real game development should be?
