O&A show summed up: Anthony and Jimmy making jokes about any and everything possible, Opie complaining about management or taking phone calls mid conversation. RIP

Honestly. I thInk opie grew up and I think doing that type of show just wasn’t for him anymore. Plus the relationship with Anthony was prob a thing that bothered him. He wasn’t as bad as people say on WAAF and WNEW and fact his style was great in those days. Yes it’s a comedy show. But opie def new the radio end and his demented humor worked. It’s not like if your not funny you shouldn’t be in the show. Opie is def has insecurity issues and def developed a huge ego at XM. It’s to bad because he thought the company should treat and pay opie and Anthony the same as the Howard stern show. Fact if opie and Anthony went up against Howard they would win but also fact Howard is a bigger and more popular show based on the long history. So when the show became fuck the company it just lost it’s power and we’re I think opie fucked up bu just grinding it rather then dealing with the cards he was dealt. I don’t blame Anthony and jimmy and the staff got sick of the bullshit ego and anger shit. If opie has just dropped it and went back to doing the opie and Anthony show there’s no doubt the show would prob still be there I think the Anthony situation could have been squashed if the company bitching wasn’t a everyday thing so the company started finding away legally to kill the opie And Anthony show. SiriusXM wins in the end. YOUR MOMS BOX. ya I’m babbling

Put it this way, 617. The shows been done a long while. Do you know of a single person from the radio show (people that worked on it like Producers, and comics alike not including Vic and Sherrod as they're not comics) that has a single thing to do with Gregg? I'll answer for you. No. Not a single person. Why is that? Why do you think? Is everyone else the problem? Or is Gregg the problem.

Op got mad at Ant and Jimmy for having fun he wasn't involved in. That's all it is. Ego radio guy. He tried, he just isn't that loose. He needs it. Them creating it without him didn't fly.

True, Opie wanted to be the star of the show, only problem is that he KNEW that he was not as talented or as quick witted as Ant, Jim, Patrice, or any other guest. So, rather that try to become more funny than them, he tried to ruin the moment or step on bits purposefully. He was a true crab in the bucket, pulling anyone above him down.
@conradsz
@conradsz Жыл бұрын
@@nickdipaolofan5948I doubt he deliberately was trying to pull the fun out of the room. He just isn’t natuarally funny and he’s got too much of an ego, so he would got to the phones or change subjects to “exist” in that room. He lacked the ease of letting the others be funny.

@MisterWin
@MisterWin 6 жыл бұрын
E101ification He didn’t beat his wife, he stomped on and broke his girlfriend’s ribs (according to the official court documents). He pleaded guilty to that and was convicted of it. The child grooming was also something this dummy admitted to on air, “self cutting girl” is public knowledge. And his “friendship” with transsexual prostitute Sue Lightning is another admission from him, not homosexual Jim Norton. I’ll pass on the cancer and continue to laugh at this dope’s downfall, as he loses subscribers daily because he’s a lazy, selfish alcoholic racist.

dude, Anthony is so contradictory. "Don't rock the boat" sure, and then go on and post the tweets that got you fired. Don't do anything to keep the other guy happy, but when something happens to you, you expect him to go the extra mile for you. Why can't you just realize that this attitude is overly selfish. If you want to just keep things professional, then you should go and talk to the board yourself and ask for your job back, and not expect other people to vouch for you.

Most people get in trouble for being late to work, and 99.999% of people don't even work on a live show. It's reasonable for Opie to get pissed. He wanted to grab a beer before you two reconciled, in private? Shit, that means he took your 20+ year relationship with importance and not some PR stunt. You're gonna trash him for that? lol I agree that Opie came across as lacking self confidence, among other faults. I think the public perception that Opie was the only reason that show didn't work, though, is flawed.

God, I couldn't agree more. Opie sucked, sure. But Anthony fucking ruined the show with his political garbage. Listening to him complain that his radio partner was upset that he couldn't even show up on time for this amazing gig makes him come across as just as much of a selfish narcissist as Opie. How many other fucking people on earth can account for traffic. I show up for work half an hour early because traffic might make me five minutes late. So does everyone I work with who has to deal with that shit. It's normal and we work worse jobs that shooting the shit with your friends on radio. What an unlikable ass.

It was a knee jerk horrible business move to fire Ant. Anyone with a brain knew Opie was nothing without him and time has proven that right. If they would have kept Anthony on they would’ve dealt with a few weeks of bad press from libs and that’s it.

I have a barely glancing awareness of Malice. This is prob the first segment of his that I've seen. The one takeaway is that his style of questioning comes across as a man interviewing someone for a job.

Anyway it's beyond hilarious that this Malice guy put down Opie for being too 'womanly' and here he is practically going "Omg did he do that, he snapped at someone? omg TEEHEE what a jerrrrk"

Tuned them out shortly after they got syndicated and broadcast on satellite and terrestrial simultaneously and tried to sell it to the Xm audience that it would be “better”. This was before the merger with Sirius. Sure, better for them money wise but it was back to the old FCC censorship. This was a loooong time ago. Liked them then. Interesting to see them hating Es h other. I misses all the drama.

Anthony is hilarious and Opie isn’t. Opie hates that he isn’t funny and therefore hates funny people. Opie had his spot on the show it just wasn’t the being funny part. I felt like the best broadcasts they did was when it was just Opie, Anthony and and lil Jimmy.

I know people guffaw at the "opie steered the ship" sorta thing, but I actually quite like Opie as an entertainer... But i think he's better suited to rehearsed, or scripted personality. I don't think he does well with unplanned entertainment. some people do better with a script, some people do better improvising.

As a big O&A listener since 2005 when I first heard their XM broadcast via DirecTV, I must say while Opie brought the show down with his depression and negativity, Ant was just as "annoying" with his political opinions. Opie is pretty entertaining. But in the short time I listened he seemed to have a bad habit of ruining good conversations or bits by interrupting or changing topic instantly to involve him more, that was very annoying. Howard does that too but it’s allot more of a smoother transition that doesn’t ruin what’s happening

It's just sad when someone thinks that their disfunction is normal and how dare people even suggest that they change: "I don't even text my family" You don't even visit your dying mother and you're astounded that someone you worked with for a long time suggested that it might be nice if you came and visited them once.

Yup, and you bet Opie was mostly taking the initiative there, just to try and save their chemistry cause he could see the show breaking down with Ant not giving a flying fuck and just coming in late and being on his laptop doing his own shit and playing poker the whole show. Ant reacts to it like a pubescent boy angry that his mom wants him to stop being a fuckup.

Ant is either naive or silly to think that doing his own thing from the compound was a good idea. Perception is reality, and it was fair to perceive that he was saying fuck you to his employer. At best, it was very poor judgement.

While I don't think of myself as easily irritated, it's only fair to say that I can be irritated by things, often very small things. In this instance, five seconds in, I heard someone say "ostensively". If it were an isolated case, no problem. But...it's not. I've heard "ostensibly" mispronounced so often that it may become absorbed into the language. Basically, it's increasingly the dumbest, most lazy people who contribute to the language. "Literally" is a solid, recent example. It has two major definitions, one of which is now, pretty much, "not really literally".
@Dennzer1

I understand what you're saying, but I've heard ostensibly pronounced correctly more often than not. It also might sometimes be hard to hear if some is saying it wrong.
