Honestly. I thInk opie grew up and I think doing that type of show just wasn’t for him anymore. Plus the relationship with Anthony was prob a thing that bothered him. He wasn’t as bad as people say on WAAF and WNEW and fact his style was great in those days. Yes it’s a comedy show. But opie def new the radio end and his demented humor worked. It’s not like if your not funny you shouldn’t be in the show. Opie is def has insecurity issues and def developed a huge ego at XM. It’s to bad because he thought the company should treat and pay opie and Anthony the same as the Howard stern show. Fact if opie and Anthony went up against Howard they would win but also fact Howard is a bigger and more popular show based on the long history. So when the show became fuck the company it just lost it’s power and we’re I think opie fucked up bu just grinding it rather then dealing with the cards he was dealt. I don’t blame Anthony and jimmy and the staff got sick of the bullshit ego and anger shit. If opie has just dropped it and went back to doing the opie and Anthony show there’s no doubt the show would prob still be there I think the Anthony situation could have been squashed if the company bitching wasn’t a everyday thing so the company started finding away legally to kill the opie And Anthony show. SiriusXM wins in the end. YOUR MOMS BOX. ya I’m babbling

Put it this way, 617. The shows been done a long while. Do you know of a single person from the radio show (people that worked on it like Producers, and comics alike not including Vic and Sherrod as they're not comics) that has a single thing to do with Gregg? I'll answer for you. No. Not a single person. Why is that? Why do you think? Is everyone else the problem? Or is Gregg the problem.

True, Opie wanted to be the star of the show, only problem is that he KNEW that he was not as talented or as quick witted as Ant, Jim, Patrice, or any other guest. So, rather that try to become more funny than them, he tried to ruin the moment or step on bits purposefully. He was a true crab in the bucket, pulling anyone above him down.
@conradsz Жыл бұрын
@@nickdipaolofan5948I doubt he deliberately was trying to pull the fun out of the room. He just isn’t natuarally funny and he’s got too much of an ego, so he would got to the phones or change subjects to “exist” in that room. He lacked the ease of letting the others be funny.

As a big O&A listener since 2005 when I first heard their XM broadcast via DirecTV, I must say while Opie brought the show down with his depression and negativity, Ant was just as "annoying" with his political opinions. I don't wanna hear politics with my humor and entertainment. THEY DONT MIX!!!! Lol
@Dennzer16 жыл бұрын
Ant was funny for years. He still is, but now his politics are so narrow, boring, 60% wrong, and unfunny.
@Pepe468736 жыл бұрын
Opie is pretty entertaining. But in the short time I listened he seemed to have a bad habit of ruining good conversations or bits by interrupting or changing topic instantly to involve him more, that was very annoying. Howard does that too but it’s allot more of a smoother transition that doesn’t ruin what’s happening

I'm surprised that Opie tolerated Anthony for as long as he did, while Anthony was a great talent, he blew it.

It's just sad when someone thinks that their disfunction is normal and how dare people even suggest that they change: "I don't even text my family" You don't even visit your dying mother and you're astounded that someone you worked with for a long time suggested that it might be nice if you came and visited them once.

Yup, and you bet Opie was mostly taking the initiative there, just to try and save their chemistry cause he could see the show breaking down with Ant not giving a flying fuck and just coming in late and being on his laptop doing his own shit and playing poker the whole show. Ant reacts to it like a pubescent boy angry that his mom wants him to stop being a fuckup.

Serious question....why wouldn't they have sacked Opie? It seems an obvious thing to do...

Ant is either naive or silly to think that doing his own thing from the compound was a good idea. Perception is reality, and it was fair to perceive that he was saying fuck you to his employer. At best, it was very poor judgement.

While I don't think of myself as easily irritated, it's only fair to say that I can be irritated by things, often very small things. In this instance, five seconds in, I heard someone say "ostensively". If it were an isolated case, no problem. But...it's not. I've heard "ostensibly" mispronounced so often that it may become absorbed into the language. Basically, it's increasingly the dumbest, most lazy people who contribute to the language. "Literally" is a solid, recent example. It has two major definitions, one of which is now, pretty much, "not really literally".
@Dennzer16 жыл бұрын
I understand what you're saying, but I've heard ostensibly pronounced correctly more often than not. It also might sometimes be hard to hear if some is saying it wrong.

There are a slew of words that are mispronounced that drives me fucking nuts. The word OFTEN is one of them. The T is silent. It is pronounced Orphan not orfTen.
@Our_Sole_Pusch6 жыл бұрын
Actually it can be pronounced either way. For me the T isn't silent, but there certainly isn't any R sound in it.
