All the people defending saka need to watch Gordon and palmer play. They’ve created chances and ran games all season. I’ve no doubt saka is elite but Gordon and palmer bring a hell of a lot of what we need.

What we “need” is a proven player who has consistently performed for England: that’s Saka. Only Harry Kane has scored more goals for England in the provisional squad. Saka was the best England player at the World Cup and was the only attacker to turn up and perform against France (aka the only one to actually perform against a big team).

Saka created 4th most chances in the entire PL this season, behind only Bruno, Odegaard and Gross. Saka created 3rd most open play chances in PL behind Bruno + Odegaard. Saka created 4th most open play chances in europe top 5 leagues behind Odegaard, Bruno & Wirtz. Bruno + Wirtz only marginally ahead with Bruno created 5 more chances total & Wirtz 1 chance more. Neither Palmer or Gordon were in the top 15 in europe top 5 leagues. Saka was no.1 in PL for expected assists, despite only 9 PL assists. Saka because of poor strikers majority of the season with Nketiah/Jesus for 2/3 of the season. Saka had 25 G/A in PL in back to back seasons, youngest player since Rooney to do it. He had 34 G/A in all comps. Saka was both Arsenal top scorer & top assist provider in each of the last 3 season during top 4 race + 2 title challenge seasons. Saka is Arsenal most important player, most important attacker. Saka was England topscorer at the last World Cup at age 21. Saka is younger then Gordon, same age as Palmer. Yet Saka currently for England team is the 2nd topscorer in this current Euro Squad. Saka has more then double as many goals for England as any midfield or attacker in this current Euro squad not named Kane. Saka has more Euro+World Cup Man of the match awards then Palmer or Gordon have starts for England. Saka who had a great PL season with 16 goals, 9 assist for Arsenal during title contending season, whose been consistent since his debut somehow should get benched for guys in there breakout years who haven't done anything at International level yet & were playing well during no pressure seasons at Chelsea+Newcastle, where teams weren't doubling either player or gameplan for them. Saka gets doubled + tripled in games and Arsenal play v Lowblocks every week with the team facing the deepest block in the PL. Its alot easier to perform with space as an attacker for clubs lower down the table. Also Saka was behind only Kane (10 G/A) in UCL for Goal contributions, Saka had 8 G/A in UCL in his 1st campaign.
