thankyou! - when you're young, you have more time for exploration eg in conversations, on the internet, etc, technology - stay mentally young by being around young people - where you start is not always where you end. overtime you'll find something you're interested in, passionate about, good at - you need to know static knowledge and dynamic knowledge as things constantly change - follow your energy/vibe - look for the things you're excited to do, eg you have 5 things on your calender, 3 you're excited to do, 2 you're not, stop doing the 2 things and do the 3 you're excited about and repeat over months and years. then you've figured out what you like and run towards those things. you like it, you care about it, you get better at it. proficiency follows energy and attention. - if you're not a full time trader, you're not going to be good as a part time trader, it's a skill, something you need to develop. student of the craft

Biggest aha moment after 3 years of trading - a lot of people make trading more complicated than it really is. Building a thesis and believing into it until it’s proven otherwise is more or less everything you need to do to prevent getting sucked in by market noise. After imlpementing such a system I was able to nearly totally eliminate overtrading.

A big ahoy for me was realising how important morning routine, discipline and pre-market preparation is. What you do in your personal life affects your trading 100%. If you regularly go to bed late and wake up less than an hour before market opens, you are not taking trading seriously and will fail in the long term. To operate at peak performance as a trader you need to have a stable structure in your life, a clear head and no issues or distractions weighting you down.

My biggest "Aha-Moment" in trading was when I realised that everything in my trading was based on my perception. The way I see the market, recognizing cycles, setups and opportunities. The way I trade them, feel about them and even the way I review them. I made a list with all my mental flaws and measures to eliminate them. I'm still working myself thru that list, everyday. Small steps in a big list, but IU with all its great knowledge-sharing members is a massive help!
