I think Simonson is like me, the more frustrated I get when I bowl a lot of times, the more laser focus I become. The key though is channeling that only in results with the ball and not show outward reactions. but we all have bad days, he just has to find better ways of controlling his temper. Kid got too much skill to blow away a could be great bowling career.

@@jusdesireable3224 Reminds me a lot of Pete Weber in that aspect: The angrier Pete was, the better he bowled. I once saw Anthony get angry because a mechanic started doing some work in his peripherals and was freely walking up and down the side of the alley (Anthony was near the corner lanes). He then proceeded to shoot the next 19 strikes in a row and had the highest 3 game block of the tournament lol

I guess the ones that don’t see an issue with him kicking the hood don’t own a center and have to pay for stuff like this when something does get damaged. Any real bowler has had bad days, no doubt but you having a bad day doesn’t give you a free pass to take it out on someone else’s equipment. Had a bowler at my center a few years back throw a bad shot and decided to take it out on the touch screen. Smashed it. $2200 later and the new one installed. Was the last time he set foot in there. But maybe we should have just given him a pass because hey, he just had a bad day. So unless you’re willing to cover those repair costs, you probably shouldn’t be ok with it. I'm sorry but he is an ambassador to the sport and also a professional bowler who has a certain conduct to carry out on the lane. They fined Sean rash for saying something on national TV while his daughter was extremely sick and his mental attitude was not in check, why are they not talking more about this and fining him. Years ago when Marshal Holman use to blow up he was fined for his action, but than again back than they were trying to keep the sport a little more professional. This is conduct that will just carry over to the younger generation and cause money damages to bowling alleys who are already struggling if people are allowed to kick machinery.

it's not that Sean rash "said something" he basically accused the pba of rigging the telecast. that's an extremely serious accusation. yes, you can empathize with the fact that he was emotionally unstable of course, but there's a line that he crossed. he is physically talented and privileged enough to be able to bowl for a living, which hundreds of thousands aspire to do, so it is troubling when you verbally attack the very organization that provides you with your income.

@@liambarron9772 You want to know something funny, year ago I am talking late 70's early 80's they dig rig as you say who was going to be on tv, there was one time I was out in anahiem California and as we were going into the last round there were two lefties on top one being Johnny Petraglia, the other Geno Papandrea. I will never forget this, but because there had been lefties on the tv show the last two weeks think it was Mike Aulby and Earl Anthony winning and at that time there was only 18% of lefties in the ABC(USBC) they came out and redressed the lanes or just sprayed oil in their pocket and the first and second guys wound up I think 13 and 24th. I am no longer out there and what them adding color to oil patterns and different oil on each lane, I dont believe this is happening but it is a funny story of how things can happen. I am not sticking up for Sean Rash what he did was unprofessional also and he was fined for it as Marshal Holman was when he threw his wrist band into the audience, but I do not understand why they are not trying to keep the younger players from kicking machines even if it was not that hard, that the young people in the audience will then do at their lanes at home an owners will have to pay the repairs. Thank you for you opinion, it is sound and logical.

This is the PBA and bowling today - ** Bunch of whiners - when they miss they blame it on someone - Weber, Simonsen, Rash, etc all in that club. ** Two handed crap - everyone wants to be a Belmo instead of learning their natural ability. ** tiny trophies - winner gets it in front of the opponent's face in disrespect. They should wait until it is presented like international players. ** Inconsistent tournaments ** No good TV contract ** 300 games everywhere (they do not get applauses any longer - too common) ** Everyone shooting 900 and averaging 250 in leagues ** Tournaments with other athletes and stars that make a mockery of the game ** 45 new bowling balls every day that only last 10 games and cost over $200 This is why scratch leagues and good ones are less and less every year. I remember when you shot a 300 everyone in the center cheered - and it may have been the only 300 that season. Today there are 10-20 300 games per league session and no one cares about them any longer - just another game.

Very well said, it's almost like you just typed out my thoughts about current bowling.
@mr.aerial18852 жыл бұрын
@@BakerOrDie123 I'm a traditionalist - where perhaps a 205 or 210 average really meant something. Today half a league averages that. I think the best era of the PBA was from 1970-1992 right before the first reactive came out (Nu Line X Calibur). Even in the urethane era, you still had to make good shots. When you had the first 9 the entire league would stop to watch your last three frames. A 700 series really meant something. ABC, ESPN etc had excellent TV schedules with the PBA and had high ratings every weekend. Today you average 210, you really suck...and again this two handed fiasco- now every junior wants to be a Belmo - and what gets me - if they bowl two handed for more power then why the hell are they all using urethane? I loved the game but it is so crappy now that I don't even care about picking up a bowling ball again - I gave away all of mine.

Some good points here, My views are similar to Brian Voss on all this, unfortunately the gates are open and probably not going back so we probably have to embrace it for the love and preservation of the game we all love. I'm not sure if there's an equalizer until you see 2 8 10's being left more frequently, I didnt say all the time but needs to happen more often for a balance and equity.
