Pleeeeease, to the people who were responsible for this production, featuring Mr. Warlow, Ms. Maunder, et al, pleeease release a Full recording, and not just the two tracks. I was incredibly fortunate to have seen this show on the stage during it's Melbourne run, and I would dearly love to have a CD memory, as it brings back such wonderful memories for me.. Not to mention, the Show's Official Programs at the theatre were promoting a CD recording, that never happened. There was an "ad" on the inside of the rear cover. Again, please re-consider and release a full recording.

I saw this show in Melbourne and was in tears as I left the theatre... There was a full page ad in the program to pre-order the album. A few months later there was a media release on their website saying the album had been cancelled due to "legal reasons" - basically the album needs to be "signed off" by dozens of pen pushers - only a few refused to sign, so the project was shelved! I bet ALL the songs were recorded like this one, but are sitting on an archive shelf never to see the light of day

I'm lying in this tent, and there's not much light, And I cannot write for long. But these words I've never said keep haunting me, And I know they can't be wrong. And I'm still a little shy to speak my mind, But the truth just won't stay down. For here in the night, There's no wrong and no right. There is only the dark; I'm alone with my heart. And now, I need to tell you now. I need to tell you how you make me feel. You're like a song, I sing you all day long; A melody so strong and sweet and real. And I don't know if you'll ever feel this way, But I have to say what I have to say. I love you, And I need to tell you now. I wonder if he knew every time we met, I was trembling inside. I longed to take your hand for we stood so close, But the distance seemed so wide. I was waiting for a time, a turn, a sign, As the days kept rushing by. And it all went so fast, A moment had past. And I know that you're gone, But the hunger lives on. And now, I need to tell you now. I need to tell you how you make me feel. There's only now; What point is there to wait? Tomorrow is too late, I can't unsee, That I may not ever have another day; So I have to say what I have to say. I love you, And I need to tell you now. My arms are empty, But you're still here: Like a mirage that will disappear. Now, the only time is now; A time to tell you how I need you near. I breathe you in, I feel you on my skin. You melt away the cold and pain and fear. And there may not ever be another day, But I know my life can't end this way. I love you, And I need to tell you now. I need to tell you... I need to tell you now.

Warlow is such an accomplished singer that you don't detect any accent... Maunder, on the other hand, has a very pronounced accent, as she doesn't sing with standardized vowels... (Let's face it, the characters are Russian! LOL)
@wazramzi661411 жыл бұрын
Well OBVIOUSLY he has superior technoque but what i consider in a great singer is versatility. Freddie not only was not vocally trained but he took parts in classical genres. Warlow has great technoque but if freddie mercury focused on technique, he could have easily surpased him. Versatility>Technique

It sounds like you just really like Freddie Mercury...
@wazramzi661411 жыл бұрын
If Freddie was raised like warlow in a pomp international music school, he would surpass warlow. But because he had humble beginnings, he was not able develop technique when he was younger. Warlow is great but he is not the best within his own genre. Freddie Mercury is perhaps one of the greatest unique voices ever heard in rock. I think it would be only fair to compare where each stand within their own genres. Who knew what Freddie could have accomplished if he had proper voice training.

@wazramzi661411 жыл бұрын
And you have to consider Freddie Mercury'd lack of voice training if you want to be "öbjective". And what you have also ignored is Warlow's lack of ability when compared to freddie mercury in producing extraodinary music. So you have versatility and creativity>technique . Another opera: watch?v=R9vNiQ4AdJ8

This was a "budget" show. The sets were cheap and uninteresting. Dr Zhivago maybe should not have been made into a musical as it is very boring. The songs are all the same, no variety. Definitely not worth the money.
