Every time I get shipping yard 1st encounter, there's ALWAYS a 2 handed axe on top of the containers in the middle. And yet there was nothing up there for you, for some reason.

Depending on layout, weapon locations vary, with (I think) 3+ different randomized spawn locations per map layout. So the version of shipping yard you get for 1st encounter, it’s either 2x4 on a crate/container, 2h axe, or machete. I think he missed the machete - it’s tucked in the corner near where he thought there should have been a bottle. Sometimes it’s on top of the office inside the building, but that’s blocked off for infected encounters. Feel free to fact check all this, I could be wrong.

@Mdougherty8054 Nah you're probably right. I feel like you're always guaranteed a melee weapon (and a mailbox) on every first encounter, from my experience. Like I know brewery 1st encounter always has an axe on the bar, or a baseball bat near the wall, etc.

He's a speedrunner, complaining about something is just his way of trying to get better at the game. If you watch any of his speedruns you'll see the same thing there. Getting upset over your mistakes is technically the right attitude to help you improve. Edit: I resumed the video after writing this, and not even a minute in he's complaining about rng lol. Other than that though I think my point still stands.

@johngrizis yeah I totally know what you mean but sometimes it just gets a little too much with the negativity. I love the man and want him to be happy in life and as positive as possible! I know no one's perfect and we can never be positive all the time but just saying my two cents

I think you e missing the point. You gotta remember that for someone like Ant, anything less than perfection is a failure. It's not how 99% of players think but for him to be the best in the world, that's the mindset.

Also, what I think plays a strong role in Ant's "attitude" is the fact, that they haven't patched this mode since the release of Remaster, so it generates a lot of weird stuff that can mess up a speedrunner, who is looking for consistency.

I have to agree, and I’ll add that I’m the same way, so it’s easier said than done, but I’m also not uploading for others’ enjoyment. If I could put a meaningless number on it, I’d say dial back the negativity by around 30-40 percent. Or at least try not to externalize it as much. Deep down, I think we all know that 75-80% of ‘jank’ is actually just us f@&$ing up. Or in my case, 99%.

So @ 4:30 if you smash the clicker in the face with a brick you can then snap its neck. This only works with a brick and only as abby, but you have to smash the clicker in the face with a brick and not throw it. At least this definitely works in the campaign, and on grounded. It should work in no return. It's the only difference I have found between bricks and bottles in part 2.

You know, I wasn’t sure if it was just me, but story gameplay and no return gameplay feel very different. Bricks/bottles have bigger range for distraction in story just as one example. But I also feel like aiming & general combat mechanics also feel a bit off. Wouldn’t affect most people, but when your performance depends on mastering consistent mechanics, switching between them could definitely mess up your groove. Btw, that must’ve been the fastest arcade bloater boss fight I’ve ever seen.

I had a video idea. I remember you had said that you haven't unlocked any cosmetics for the no-return characters yet. You could make a video unlocking all the stuff with your points and then probably give a review of the cosmetics? or can even do something like a tier-list?
