We're constantly being hypothesized whenever we watch or listen to anything. Heck, even listening to someone speak ultimately is hypnosis if you just let yourself listen and not keep your distance cognitively. Hypnosis is the #1 tactic for ads. It's the main way that most pop music functions. It makes people billions and is quite gross. The government even friggen uses it. There were research studies decades ago on how best to hypnotize people for the purposes of dealing with threats from other countries etc etc. But you damn well know that research was turned against us.

I would certainly say "you can't hypnotise me". Many years ago I took part in a research programme which called for tests on various people to determine whether they were susceptible to hypnotism or not. During two one-hour sessions they tried various approaches, "inductions". I was never able to turn off my critical sense, my mind never stopped knowing that someone was trying to hypnotise me. They'd say (for instance): "you're feeling relaxed. Your arms are feeling heavy. So heavy... you can't lift them any more".... then I'd say "I'm sorry"and start waving my arms about. After two sessions they thanked me and said I was one of the "non-hypnotisable" minority, which still represents quite a number of people.
@Tkieron5 жыл бұрын
Them telling you that you're "non-hypnotizable" is a lie. Everyone is able to be hypnotized. You have to want to be hypnotized. You have to allow yourself to be hypnotized. I've met some subjects who were convinced they couldn't be hypnotized. They turned out to be great subjects for me.

@@Tkieron , actually you don not have to want to be or let yourself. All you have to do is drop your guard for a SECOND and you're caught. Hypnosis is used ALL the time by media, by marketing campaigns etc etc. They use distraction tactics to get you to drop your guard and you're screwed.

Xavier, have you ever bought anything because of an ad? Or even something RELATED to what was in that ad? If so, you've been hypnotized. Everyone can be hypnotized, everyone who consumes any media is actively being hypnotized. Movies and music do it all the time. If you watch a full movie, you've been hypnotized. IF you find yourself keeping the beat to a song, you've been hypnotized... etc etc etc. The stuff the researches were trying with you are just child's play to the more sophisticated tactics that are out there. One of those tactics is of course, not telling someone that you are trying to hypnotize you. All it takes is to get you to drop your critical sense for a moment and you're caught in their web if they are good enough. If you (or anyone else read this whole comment; congrats, you've been hypnotized.)

@@OgdenM I have never bought anything because of an ad. I have always been very mistrustful of advertising. I've seen this done in real life. Back in 1989. This was done exactly in the same setup on stage in Altus Oklahoma. I would not have believed it until one of my friends which was a female volunteer to go up there and would never do the things that she had done and faked it. The power of suggestion is pretty powerful unless you do an extensive amount of research on it you won't quite understand it. Hypnosis is literally the extension of power of suggestion. In response to the comment about her "wanting" to be hypnotized, in fact she very much wanted to be. I doubt that I would have been able to work with her if she did not. The point of the video is that she didn't think she could be. At the end of the clip I hope I made that clear. This technique can help many people who would at first blush think it would never work for them.The clip hopefully showed that.The control is and will always be with the subject. If you've never been hypnotized, look one up locally and try it. I saw one a while back just to see what it was really like. I think it was around $100 for an hour or something like that. I did it and it was pretty bizarre. I sat in a chair in a small, dimly lit room while the hypnotist put on some sort of new age music while asking me questions, then out of nowhere he sort of palm-slapped my arm and I just went numb. He started telling me things and I felt I had to do it. I was clearly aware of what was going on, and I even said "wow, how are you doing this??". It was really weird. I've paid more for less entertaining experiences, so it was worth it just to know that this IS real, something is actually happening psychologically.
@myswanktrendz6 жыл бұрын
Billy Batson - another hypnotist explained that people are NOT asleep (just as you noted) and their bodies feel as though they're in temporarily paralysis. Plus their eyes flutter because they've put themselves into an REM state, so it must feel similar to sleepwalking/dreamlike, except you are aware what is going on, just not able to come out of it.

It does work,, if you let it work, need an open mind, I do know once u are under, you won't be able to anything if your body won't allow you under normal situations, eg a wheelchair bound person won't exactly get up and run 100m . I don't know the secrets of hypnosis, but it worked on me, I guess it's like trying to tell a person who strongly doesn't believe in ghosts that ghosts are real, of course they won't believe that since they don't have an open mind. I don't know, it's hard to explain unless u go in with an open mind and are prepared to be hypnotized, it will work, if ya go in with a strong mindset you can't be hypnotized, then it won't work.

Dirty little secret of ALL media: hypnotizing people is SUPER easy. The easiest of course is through sight and sound. But, you can do it alone through either. You can even do it through writing. Almost EVERY Movie, TVShow, and now KZbin vids etc as well as music use hypnosis tactics to rope you in. Granted, a lot of solo KZbinrs might not realize what they are doing. But, if they are making content based on user engagement and ratings, they ARE using hypnosis tactics. EVERY advertisement in those formats 100% uses hypnosis tactics. And I mean EVERY single one. Hypnosis really is just giving you something to focus your "higher cognitive functions " on while there is another thing telling you something else. It's 100% how he got Carol in the end. He told her to focus on a light and she started obeying what he was saying subconsciously instead of consciously blocking it. ----All though, it was only possible because her subconscious was always paying attention to what he was saying. There is a reason that MOST popular music (of any genera) has upbeat instrumentation and sad depressing lyrics. Your consciousness focuses on the upbeat while your subconscious focuses on the depressing, processes it and internalizes it. It's totally obvious if you start asking people what the lyrics are to their fave songs. Most people really have NO clue and will say that they just listen to the music and tune out the lyrics. But, your subconscious isn't tuning anything out. Even people that can sing the lyrics of their fave songs frequently have NO clue what they actually are singing much less what they mean. A lot of time all we remember is the chorus because it's repeated over and over again. But the other 4-8 lines is where all the really bad $hit is. Next time you listen to some "upbeat" song, pay attention to your emotions. If you start getting cognitive dissonance where you're feeling BOTH happy and sad at the same time and are starting to fell confused; look up the lyrics.

Manny Pineda so you're saying you've been hypnotized before and can vouch for it? Well, I have been on stage with a "hypnotist" before. There is a driving force to "be cool" and let it work, and be very easily suggestible. I'm not one to go along with the crowd, and I called him put on it at the risk of looking like an asshole. Later my friend and a couple others talked and we all agreed they were just going along with it so they didn't look bad. They believed it worked for everyone but them. I have also been in a very real hypnotic state, and I can promise you it's not something you can get to without altering your neurotransmitters. This can be done with drugs or it can be done with deep meditation in a sensory deprivation chamber, but it cannot be done on stage. He's just another snake oil salesman.

There's a simple psychology behind this phenomenon. The instructor constantly touches the subjects in a gentle manner which in turn makes the subjects more willing to go along with the act instead of resisting and appearing rude towards him and the audience. When he snaps his fingers, the eyes close by reflex. As the eyes are already closed, people feel it's easier to keep them closed and play the part rather than keeping them opened and feel embarrassed for not complying. Kind of like people acting agreeable out of kindness instead of disagreeing and appearing rude. People will always try to avoid conflict by nature. People usually don't like to be the center of attention when they don't feel they are in control. Because they lack the confidence to handle the situation, especially when a large audience is watching. As the subjects don't know what's about to happen, complying to the instructions like everyone else takes the eyes of themselves instead of failing to cooperate and becoming the center of attention. The audience may think they are deliberately trying to sabotage the set instead of working together as a team. Which gives the best impression? The simple fact of the individual believing in hypnosis may cause him/her to play along because they really WANT to believe it's real. And the thought of being part of an act which amazes the audience exites them. Think of it this way... If simple gestures and words could make a grown man/woman involuntary bark like a dog, random people allover the world would do it at work, meetings, walking down the street, driving their cars, during conversations,... this does not happen! Nobody's in control of an individual's actions but the individual himself! People who are "hypnotized" only act this way because they either WANT to play along or have been paid to do so.

On top of that, they seem like they're acting. Smirking and all. Just an observation from a guy who doesn't know anything about this.

Also the guy that jumps up and shouts whatever messed up. When he asked the lady "do you think you can be hypnotized?". The guy said the thing. the trigger was supposed to be on the word hypnosis. watch from 7:35 to 8:15

People that undergoes hypnosis still has morals, they can hear everything, sense and feel they don't lose their senses nor become mindless slaves. Hypnosis isn't mind control, hypnosis is when a hypnotist says something then then subject believes it to be true and acts on it as if it is true. Subjects knows what they're doing except that they feel so relaxed and so good that they're willing to do almost anything the hypnotist ask them to do. If at any given time a subject wants to open their eyes, they can do that, if they want to smile, laugh or smirk they can do that also. Again hypnosis is not mind control and it isn't anything like the way it's been portrayed in the movies, tv show or cartoon show.
@reggierodriguez654610 жыл бұрын
ALL hypnosis shows are impromptu meaning that the subjects are YOUR friends and family participating on stage without being paid by the hypnotist. How do I know Because I'm a hypnotist and we don't pay people to act, we just don't the money to pay for actors or actresses. If hypnosis is fake then it wouldn't be such a lucrative business and colleges such as HMI which stands for Hypnosis Motivation Institute wouldn't have existed. If hypnosis was fake then surgeons wouldn't have used hypnotist to put some of their patients to sleep and numb their whole body. There's patients that are allergic to anesthetic so they have to rely on hypnotist to put them to sleep. You can find out all the facts on hypnosis via google. Do your do diligence and educate yourself on the facts of hypnosis before making any more future comments about hypnosis and making yourself look like a doofus. People believes in the illuminati and their mind control but yet people don't believe in hypnosis which doesn't make any logic sense.

In addition to what Reggie said (I'm not a hypnotist but I study these things rather extensively) there are people (from what I've seen, it's around 5-10% of the population.) who simply can't be hypnotized.
@reggierodriguez654610 жыл бұрын
That is absolutely true not everyone can be hypnotized. People with any form of an acute mental retardation such as autism can't be hypnotized. People that are extremely high or extremely drunk can't be hypnotized and people that don't want to be hypnotized won't be hypnotized.

The sudden jerking movement causes the waking mind to detach and the sub conscious mind to be brought forward. Its a forceful method that does work. Some who fight hard and have made it up in their mind they cant be hypnotized can overcome any attempts to be hypnotized. The technique was originally made to overwhelm a persons mind instantly before they had made up their mind.

Hypnosis works by a person willingly accepting to agree with the hypnotist. This can be done freely or through intimidation onto a weak-willed individual. To prevent the person that will be or was already hypnotised from realising this and/or from breaking from a hypnotised state, the hypnotist will often say something like it is wonderfully imaginative and creative people that are hypnotised, thus making the hypnotised person more agreeable to their suggestible state.

People who don't think they can be hypnotized are often most easily hypnotized. People who are closed-minded or stubborn can be hypnotized then still believe hypnotism is impossible! In order to avoid being hypnotized you must realise that nothing we perceive is truly real it's just your interpretation of what is real. Only once you can see the parallel between reality and delusion can you choose to be hypnotized. You can only achieve this by questioning everything in your normal everyday life.

From what I've seen, hypnosis works but my experience personally being hypnotized is a different story. I went to one of Anthony's shows in 2009 at my college and got to be one of around 30 people on stage and I wanted to be hypnotized but in reality the entire time I was just acting, trying to get into it. It was very fun anyways and I convinced my friends I didn't remember anything but I knew the whole time. That's just me though and it does sort out the paid actor thing; whether or not it worked for me, I wasn't paid to make a fool of myself, I just volunteered.

I will never not be both highly unnerved but also endlessly fascinated by this phenomenon. It may just be my overanalytical monkey brain but I wish I knew how susceptible I really am to hypnosis. I can get absorbed in things very easily, have a good imagination, get emotional, etc. At the same time I'm also a chronic overthinker and slow to trust others, especially with something as intimate as my state of consciousness! I _think_ I can bring myself to a state of light trance and have given myself suggestions before, which have worked, even though there's always part of me at the back of my mind saying it's just my imagination (which is true anyway). But in a stage or public situation I think I would be very guarded for what I should think are obvious reasons, and I have never experienced anything like the responsiveness I've witnessed in some subjects, though it's also true I haven't been to see a professional either.

I am a certified hypnotist and I would like to inform those of you who think they can't be hypnotized, that you infact go in and out of trance states throughout the day, everyday. A definition of Hypnosis: The induction of a trance state in an individual. It is impossible to stay in Beta the whole time you're awake. We switch between Beta and Alpha brainwave states roughly every minute. Everytime you close your eyes, for example, you instantaneously go into a light alpha trance. Any time you shut off one of the 5 senses, youre in an Alpha trance. The truth is that you are in a trance-state collectively for half the day. Before you fall asleep (Delta) and as you wake, you go into/through the Theta brainwave state. When you watch a movie, you tend to "suspend your belief" and have an emotional reaction. Your favorite character died or gets injured and you have an emotional reaction as if it's real and not an act. That's you in a trance. When you find yourself smiling when you watch commercials, simply because the actors are smiling and the music and scenery is pleasant, that's you being hypnotised. Commercial makers know all about hypnosis techniques and power of suggestion. So the colors they choose, the lighting, the imagery, and the music, etc. are carefully/intentionally chosen. Many commercials play alpha waves in their music. What they are hoping to do.. is to have their message bypass your conscious mind and influence and hopefully insert their suggestions into your subconscious mind. So the next time you get a sinus cold, you'll think of that sinus medication you saw in a commercial some time ago. Or when you get hungry, you remember that delicious looking burger you saw from a burgerking commercial. Or someone who is highly suggestable: You watch a commercial from burger king and turn to your kids and go "Hey guys wanna go to burgerking?" And the kids go "YEAH!!". They don't think, hey is this any good for me or my kids? No. They see something that looks delicious and know that its fast and so they want it and because they don't have strong beliefs against it, they are highly influenced by such commercials. Because I know the methods commercials use, their suggestions don't get implanted in my subconscious mind. I also formed strong beliefs against most commercial ads. So when I see a commercial, all I hear is: Trust us.. Like us because we made a funny.. Buy our product.. Give us your money.. and frankly it's creepy af. I hope that some of you find this informative and if anything, that it stirs your curiousity to look more into this "hypnosis thing" you may or may not believe in.. ;)

It extremely real, go search up how all hypnotist do this, they got to break that conscious mind and let the sub-conscious take over there body. It's all science bro, NONE OF THAT MAGIC BULLSHIT.

I was in two different hypnotist shows. One at the CA state fair and once at a high school sober grad night. I wanted to be hypnotized really bad but it just didnt work. One time it had absolutely zero effect, and the other time i wanted to do what the hypnotist told me but not bad enough for me to do it.

My psychology professor brought in a hypnotist to try and hypnotize our class (of 100 students!). She didn't think it would work because of the number and the setting, but surprisingly, 3 people did go under - one of them was an associate of mine from work. She was truly hypnotized but given her life story, I was not surprised.

@@Tylermiller778 😂🤣 I been following for a few years. This video in particular is my favorite, it recently popped up again and I decided to comment. Marc Savard is also entertaining, don't know if you've heard of him.
