Tbh as much as I love the look of the pocket, I think that at the budget price point you really want a flexible camera. You can use the FX3/FX30 for any type of video work, including cinema. Thats the value factor of these small body/cheaper cameras
@JasonLeto8 ай бұрын
Great video. In the talking-head portion in the middle, you can clearly see the major color difference. The skintones shift pretty heavily between magenta and yellow(ish)/green on the sony and dont roll off as smooth as on the blackmagic. Under controlled lighting, they can both look pretty close and most clients won't notice it anyway. But my Blackmagic tends to get me to the desired look like 80% of the time whereas the sony needs a lot more attention and fine-tuning.

Can you do an overheating test with the FX3 for internal and external recording? Raw with the Ninja V? I need to know if it will overheat with long shoots and there's no videos on this. Sony's website has conflicting info saying 90 minutes and also 13 hours.
@OUCGN3 жыл бұрын
There is no video about this yes. Because it's not necessary to make one! If you watch sony a7s3 overheat tests. It isn't overheating. Why would fx3 do? It has internal fans

@@OUCGN I just need to know before I buy. The online manual for the camera says it should go for about 90 minutes with the heat setting on high tolerance. The tests in those videos did not show it for more than an hour or two at most. I'm going to use this for half day long shoots.

Slog3 in 10 bit is comparable to the raw. With colour grading you can make them match. Your workflow will probably better dictate which camera is right for you because image quality is close enough that most people won’t notice a difference after grading

8:40 is a crazy comparison. The Sony isn't even picking up colors that the 6k pro is. It almost looks like a saturation slider was cranked all the way down. The FX3 is the way to go if you have the bucks. If you don't, the BMPC4K is all you really need, and it's a bargain.
@akpevbe3 жыл бұрын
Will definitely pick the P6K Pro over the P4k bcus with the P4k you then have to buy a speed booster, a monitor, then cage to mount it on and a VND filter, then at this point the price is basically the same or slight more than the 6K Pro.
@Panotaker3 жыл бұрын
@@akpevbe I guess it all depends on how much stuff you have laying around from your previous cameras. I already had a bunch of lenses from my GH4, so I didn’t need a speed booster, and I already had a Ninja V, so I didn’t need a monitor. Plus the 6k pro wasn’t around when I bought my pocket 4K. You are still going to need a cage and a monitor for the 6K Pro. If I was going to upgrade, I would get the Sony, just for the superior autofocus, and it’s smaller for factor.
@akpevbe3 жыл бұрын
@@Panotaker you definitely have a point there, if you already have most of that already especially the lens or speedbooster and monitor then it will definitely make sense to go for the P4k. But for someone just starting out with nothing already, the P6K Pro MIGHT be the better choice over the P4K. I recently upgraded the P6k for the P6K PRO and trust me dude, the advantages of the ND, bright flip screen and battery is 100% day and night. With the P6k Pro, you definitely don't need a cage as the battery last for about 60-70mins, the screen is bright so no need for external monitor and the in built ND filter is far better than the Tiffen VND i use to use. I shot on a gimbal and handheld without a cage for my last 3 shoot and definitely don't need one.

Black Magic has brought a lot of cameras to market but only 2 were big hits namely the Pocket Cinema Camera and the URSA Mini. The Pocket is now bigger than the original Black Magic Cinema Camera and the URSA is not so mini. (Though URSA Mini Pro is much smaller than the original URSA). Sony is not in the clear either. Without DCI and precise 24 FPS, FX3 has no business in the Cinema Line.

Your video was the first result when I typed "bmpcc 6k vs fx3." I shoot Sony with the A7IV and the pocket 6K, not the 6K bro, but I'm just going to say right away that this doesn’t gave me the vibe of someone who's willing to be fair with both brands since you chose to criticize the body of the 6k pro. It's not like you can wrap your four fingers around the FX3, and it seems to be a major issue for every FX3 shooter I know, but not for you. I’ll keep watching since I stopped to write this and hopefully I can get anything helpful out of your video.
