Cease and desists are pretty useful tbh. C&Ds allow you to make cogs unable to attack for 5 rounds. If you hit them, the counter resets. This can be useful for: - solos. If you cease a cog, you no longer have to worry about it. If you cease 3 cogs, you can spam fires and use a bike horn to reset the turns and keep going - buffing sound damage. If you cease a 19 exe in the ceo, pres sound becomes a power house with trunks being able to deal 41 damage - you simply don’t have to worry about a cog. This is useful for high EXE cogs in ceos. Crowd control is a nice ability to have.

1. Cease and Desists are used to bolster sound when there's a single strong cog in the group. It keeps it alive so your sounds can do more damage for the turns they kill the other 3 cogs. For example, CEO fights start with a level 17-19 depending on the Tier and the rest are level 5-8. Sue the strong cog and your sounds deal more damage for at least 3 turns. 2. Unprestige zap is usable now. They made it viable enough to use regularly in battles without neutering the benefits of its prestige too much. 3. Unprestige throw gained some new 1-shot combos with prestige lure. Like a prestige b-day cake with prestige lure can kill a level 13. I think 5/5 with prestige lure and throw is a great solo build now.

My problem with the cog designs is that, well, they’re robots. The old designs are boxy and mechanical, a huge contrast to the toon’s cartoonish look. I think it’s possible to update the cogs designs *and* keep the boxy, mechanical feel, but this ain’t it. Toons are goofy, cogs are boring. They’re so curvy and cartoony they look like toons, not cogs.

yeah, and i hate that, for example, the bloodsuckers are literal vampires. it was better when they just slightly looked like vampires, but still basic businessmen.

@@manulstrider To be fair, that was never a concern in the original game. Legal Eagels are literal birds, Big Cheeses are slices of cheese, Corporate Raiders are grizzled pirates, etc. The cogs were never barred from whimsy. Besides, I tend to prefer the crazier designs that take the name literally! I totally see what you mean with your specific example, though. I find the old Bloodsucking design far more appealing. It and the Ambulance Chaser got real messed up.

I think the boxy, more polygonal design of the originals was more unintentional. This was originally a 2003 game, where graphic design for MMOs at the time we're not super polished. Besides, IMO some of the original designs don't come off as robotic and mechanical anyways, and more so just weirdly humanoid. Examples would be the mover and shaker, flunky, micromanager, and corporate raider. I say the newer models give a more robotic look because of the added metal details of some of them. There's no real definitive design philosophy behind the cog's beyond "literal business pun or corporate position"

"there's also sans" yes, because one way to win over ttr toons is to make undertale references, lol And another thing I also realized, why do the cogs get SADDER when they're close to being defeated?! Isn't the whole point to make them quite literally explode with laugher? Shouldn't they infrequently do a subtle giggle animation or something? And I do dislike that they got rid of a lot of the reflective floors in Lawbot HQ, it really made it feel more legal. I can't really explain it so maybe take it with a grain of salt, but there ya go. Maroon rugs and reflective floors would of looked way better imo.

Cease & Desists make a Cog not attack for 5 turns, but if the Cog is hit during those 5 turns, the timer is reset, essentially being an INFINITE stun. Cease & Desists are actually much better than you make them out to be, for one main reason: *Prestige Sound.* What Prestige Sound does is take 1/2 the highest Cog's level and adds it to the damage against ALL the Cogs. For example, a Prestige Foghorn on a level 10 does (50 + 5) 55 damage. Where does this come in handy? The CEO: sue the first level 18/19 Cog and use it to leech extra damage to kill the smaller Cogs. Even better if it's a .exe, because it'll stick around for longer. You might be thinking, "wait, why keep it around instead of just firing it? Fires are so much cheaper!" Well, after a patch soon after 1.1 released, Cease & Desists were buffed from needing 1/2 the Cog's level to 1/4, but Pink Slips were NERFED to requiring 1/3 the level. And again, you can't use the Cog to buff prestige Sound if you fire it.

Also, a few other tidbits: 1. Count Erclaim pre-2020 was meant to be a teaser for 1.1, not the other way around. Plus, look at the NEW Count Erclaim! 2. The new designs are great, imo! The Cogs are meant to be creepy from a Toon standpoint, so it makes sense! (Also new Ambulance Chaser looks like Waluigi, have fun with that knowledge) 3. The biggest thing besides the WSI fight was definitely the lore. After John Robolts retired, the Chairman hired a single(?) father to get the department in order while a proper replacement was being looked for, only for him to get overrun by Toons, his own son getting hurt in the fray, until he finally snaps, showing his true colors. And ultimately, at the hands of one foolish Toon who thought he was doing the right thing... He dies.

Hard disagree on the redesigns, it's nice to have enemies with real personality. It's way more fun to fight lawbots just because you can look at the whacky animation, rather than the normal (-_-) face on every other cog lol. Great video though :)

The C&D is actually pretty useful in a ceo especially a max tier one. You just use one on the highest level cog which is always gonna be a 17 a 18 or 19. And then you have sound booster for pres sound fellows and will be able to sound through some of the boss more effectively

I couldn’t have said it better myself. In the end, BTL was a complete waste of time in terms of lore. The toons tried to destroy the Lawbots once and for all and it took them about 8 months to finally finish their operation. They were wrong about the CJ being fired and destroyed the new boss and tore his family apart in the process, leaving his son lonely and losing a fellow toon whom nobody really liked anyway. Then they were finally ready to finish the Lawbots off until they strike back stronger than ever with a new HQ and a boss, completely undoing what the operation was meant to do and leaving the incompetent rangers with nothing but failure.

I don't like the new cog designs as much because they're goofy. I can respect them because they clearly have a lot of work put into the models, but cogs are supposed to be these cold machines that are all about business, and take the fun and sunshine away from toontown to fit their soulless corporate world. The new designs don't translate that nearly as well. Redesigning them to be super animated, toony and zany fits the spirit of toontown sure, but that goes against the entire point! This was also my issue with some of the other cog designs they look way too cartoony... Like the red herr wing i think the name was? The bird guy. It looks like a toon's head. Hard to take seriously The same goes for the legal eagle too! The original was much bulkier but the new one's head is oversized and round and too cutesy. Not a fan. I don't know if there's like... a lore reason for this? (I know there are comics, but I don't read them) Or if they just decided to make them look super cartoony... just because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I don't like it personally. At all. The promotional art for the legal eagle you showed off in the video looked WAY cooler... not sure if they are going to be like that forever or not but those are just my thoughts The petti-fogger looks like it could have been in the original game though I really like that one

I keep trying to give CC a chance because everyone says it’s so much better in game mechanics but the art style is just really off-putting tbh. The color choices especially with how saturated everything is doesn’t look good. I also play as a rabbit and I dislike how they modified that species in particular. (That really enlarged muzzle? Yikes.) A big part of Toontown’s appeal to me was the design and style of the world. I commend the CC Team for trying something new but the visual changes are a big miss for me. TTO’s art was perfect imo (except for the actual Disney characters, idk why they made Mickey look like THAT).

I generally agree with Anthony with the Lawbot redesigns. Though I like the cogs talking and expressions. I also like the Spin Doctor redesign but not the twitching. The outside of Lawbot HQ could be better too.

Even though I would like to play the update at some point myself being that I missed it all, I honestly have some opinions and suggestions for the update in the future and then some in a word heavy list here. For one, I do like the redesigns on some of the Cogs especially liking the Backstabber and Double Talker to the ones I think might need the re-change too. Even though I do see fans of some of them, I kinda would think if maybe polls on re-doing them (all of them, maybe the Cog destruct animations too?) and when they win they can probably get a community effort to go and suggest then choose what would look better and change what might not fit. Like say any and future redesigned Cogs not having talking animations, unless they plan to do it to Toons too without anyone expecting it, imagine that one... A sorta one-point-two, maybe an option to go between the new and old styles in options if you want to go for the old heads instead. Two would be the C.L.O., I would like to fight it some time but I honestly would have not minded a revamp possibly to the old one in the fight with redesign and all (I like the old one's looks to be honest c:), within in the same game at some optional point for a fight. But I kinda worry if a boss or a couple others might retire too... Would be a shame to see them all replaced unless the C.E.O. is the only one that might not get it. My third would be to do with Skelecogs since I thought they would also get a change in look too being not only as a mini boss but also the many used in fights and anywhere else too. Guess that will be in the future, but it looks funky right now to put Lawbots Cogs 2020's redesign to 2000's skelebarp. And a fourth, the C.A.D. probably needs a pointer to players who get it though. Since I have seen it does more than act as a "worse lure" and does effect other gags but people would be having to figure it out all by themselves.

1. Unlike lure C&D's are INFINITE as long as you hit the cog with a gag every 5 turns (yes even a kazoo will reset it). The main use for them is in the CEO, you use one to stun a lvl 17,18,19 and then that cog gives a boost to pres sound which allows you to take out the other three cogs with lower level sound. If you use them correctly C&D's are actually pretty good better than fires in many cases. 2. You missed out on some important mechanic tweaks like how unPres zap isn't completely useless any more or throw and drop pres getting a buff, or how lure decay actually works how it's supposed to thus making lure not as Op as it used to be, the fact that some of the new lawbots are specialists and are either attack or defense focused, and many more tweaks. 3. You also didn't mention the inclusion of the pandora textures, when I launched 1.1 for the first time it was night and day, the game went from a blurry mess to sharp and clear. When I go back to TTR man do the textures look bad. 4. The performance improvements, I have a beefy PC and good internet connection and even I noticed a large performance and stability increase with 1.1. For people with lower end PCs it made the game playable for them. Overall I thought BTL was meh until the WSI miniboss and overall I like 1.1. The CLO is much better vs the CJ, the new HQ while small feels alot more lived in compared to the old one, and while the new cog designs take some getting used to, once you play the game a bit they begin to grow on you. Personally I cant wait for all the old cogs to get new models, especially after the new Count Erclaim model they released in Halloween this year.

The new cog designs are really strange. They work really well as their own thing, but I feel like I would get really exhausted playing the game seeing how animated the cogs are. I always imagined them stiff and mostly expressionless because yk, they’re cogs. They hate fun and lively things. Anyways the Ambulance Chaser is a sin and I hate it with every fiber of my being. I haven’t touched TTCC in a few years and that alone makes me not want to try it again lmao. The Backstabber and the Double Talker looks great though, love them lots.

The bottomfeeder is a clam now because they filter feed at the bottom of the ocean. I agree with your comment with the advocate and shyster. The advocate comes from "avocat" which is just the french word for lawyer, which happens to have the word cat in it. The shyster comes from "the shitter" in german, so maybe making her like... idk, a talking toilet, would've been better.

your criticisms for the cogs in this dont really make any sense, if you are able to articulate them at all. why doesn't the shyster fit? you never get around to why or how, and eventually just settle on it being "okay". arent the cogs supposed to be kind of strange and creepy? theyre the villains of the game, and theyre disgusting corporate creatures with intentionally unappealing color schemes, using dull colors if at all. it seems weird to complain about the cogs looking weird or creepy when they were always meant to be that.

BTL had good elements, but the length of it made it a big problem. I can understand why some people complain about not being able to fight the WSI at any laff, but they did make it clear this wasn't going to be a "Storm Lawbot". Also yes BTL was overhyped. Now on to 1.1 Most of the new lawbot models are good, unfortunately the lawbots don't fit well. However, you can have 2 view points on this. 1 is that it is in beta, and beta means that this isnt exactly "finished" so when they do it to the rest it isnt going to look as weird. On the other hand this is a TTPS and a lot of them dont get past beta. The new Lawbot HQ is pretty good, but it's a bit small. The office lobby is cool, and the new puzzles are pretty cool. The CLO is a bit of a tough thing to talk about because overall it is really good, but has a glaring issue. The CLO is really just what the CJ would be if it was good. Cannon round is better no question at all (except for launch where cannons didnt work well). The final round is better overall as well. The issue with it is that it feels just as spammy if not more than the CJ. However, theres a reason for this. The CLO is much more movement based. The CJ you could jump over evidence with good timing, and have to move and jump when the CJ jumps. The CLO is like DOOM, if you're not moving, you're dying. This is a good thing. The CJ really presented little challenge unless you were trying to solo stun. This presents a similar challenge to everyone, yes people who taunt are slightly are at more of a risk of dying, but overall this is a really well designed Toontown boss. As far as C&Ds goes, it depends what type of player you are. If you always go with 8 and rewards are just a way to make things quicker, C&Ds are garbage. However in 4 mans, Sound and Desist (using C&Ds on a high level cog to boost the pres sound damage) can be a really helpful strategy, and in solos sue 3 cogs, fire 1 each turn, when sue is about to expire using something that hits all to reset it. They have great potential in everything other than 8 man bosses. Overall, 1.1 is a great update. Admittedly, I am disappointed about hardmode being cut from 1.1, but hopefully when it does release it will be worth the extra wait. And 2020 Count really shows just how much they can push the limits of what is a "cog miniboss" if they put a miniboss in hardmode

Also what I think of the new models. Bottom Feeder: Weird if you dont get the joke that his head is supposed to be like a trash bin. Other than that good. Pettifogger: Wouldve been good as a normal cog, not as an animated one like the new lawbots (yes his mouth is animated but that's it) Bloodsucker: Not only is it not good, the fact that it was originally Count does make it weird for veteran players Needlenose: Overall a rather well done cog. Not amazing, but really solid Double Talker: My 2nd favorite new cog. Maybe my favorite if they hid teeth under the one side with its mouth closed because the lack of teeth makes it look weird when talking. Conveyancer: Worst new cog. Please I want a redesign Ambulance Chaser: Overall rather well done. He does look a bit weird at times, but does well at giving off grumpy old man vibes. Also his hat flying off when exploding is a nice touch. Shyster: Rather well done. As a concept it's amazing as well. The community does overrate the Shyster a bit, but its still rather good. Backstabber: Best new cog. Admittedly it is a lot different than the original backstabber but his redesign just makes more sense. A more refined point, a smile put on to make you trust him but is overall malicious looking, and his constant looking from side to side is the cherry on top to him looking as if hes up to no good. Advocate: Deserves more love from the team and the community. When you are just kinda lazily playing the game you really dont notice its animation due to the fact they blend in with the rest of the face, but if you look closely the animation is rather good. Spin Doctor: Its a similar case to the Backstabber. Very different from the original, but does make some sense (not as much as Backstabber). His gears are always spinning, hence his twitching and such. Barrister: Another solid cog. The way his eyes are animated are cool, sure his model is for the most part simple, but it gets the job of being an animated cog done still unlike Pettifogger. Legal Eagle: I have mixed feelings on this cog. When I first saw him, I thought it was pretty bad. However, that was really just at a bad angle. Overall is another decent one, but at some angles he just looks weird. Big Wig: Like the concept, but the execution has a similar problem to the pettifogger although it is slightly better.

This is going to be a long comment. First of all I don't agree with you at all that 2020 was a good year for Toontown, in fact I think it has been the WORST year so far for many many reasons, the only good things about 2020 for Toontown this year was the best parts of BTL, 1.1 and TTR's 2.7.0 update. Secondly I 100% agree with you that the Conveyancer is the least memorable of the new cogs, almost every other Lawbot though I'm a pretty big fan of. I personally love the CLO Boss battle, I think it is better than the CJ, but! I still like the CJ, in fact it's my favorite boss in TTR for many reasons ( mostly because the CFO is bad ) but they're both pretty good bosses, they just need more attack/defense cogs spawning and they need to change up some of her animations. As for the CnD, congrats you are officially the first person to make a video about the reward, I personally find it to be more of a single cog Cogs miss than a lure. But I find it to be a bit overpowered because if you keep attacking the cog it basically lasts forever. The one unacceptable thing they did with this update was adding in Pandora textures, you are welcome to disagree with me on this but do understand it's not gonna change my mind. I give 1.1 a 7/10, similar to your score. I recently reached 134 on Clash so I'm gonna play it less, but I'll be there when they add something new whenever that may be. Phew! I know that's quite a lot but those are my thoughts about your video and the update. Happy Holidays.

And why was including Pandora bad? Because it was "stolen" from TTR? TTR isn't supposed to make money from the server and they are already infringing on copyright so what was the point of them holding these textures back from the community? Why didn't they put them in their game before CC did? Look dude I highly doubt Disney isnt going to sue for a few high res texture files from 2003, they have to save their current failing movie business. I mean Mulan 2020 was their biggest flop EVER and this year has been one bad disney movie after the next.
