Really enjoy the increased variety of lines and figures you’ve been reviewing! Obviously, I don’t purchase the vast majority of stuff you review, but I still watch them because they’re entertaining, so it’s a lot of fun when you check out different things :)

I'm glad someone else mentioned the short legs. ALL of their figures have short legs, which kept me from getting any of their human figures. Its so bizzare seeing their knight figures look all good, and then they just have short legs.
@arthurchen64646 ай бұрын
I think their standard figures are more proportionate. Maybe not exactly heroic superhero proportions with longer legs, but this giant buck is definitely way more deformed with long arms and short legs.

I think the proportions are fine since it's a demon, it can be very inhuman really, like a goat pan demon. But I do agree the the front skirt doesn't help, like either make all the skirts long or short, for me.

I love Mythic Legions’ creativity and quality but I’ve also noticed that some of the characters tend to have a stubby look to the legs. I’m glad you mentioned it; let’s me know I’m not going crazy.

personally, of the bigger figures from the Poxxus wave, the one I feel like you should check out is Kalizirr, the djinn (or genie), a newer body sculpt compared to the ogre-scale body seen here on Azahazzar, very aesthetically pleasing and pretty good in the accessories department. The Four Horsemen stuff I've most consistently liked are their Figura Obscura releases, comprising characters from literature, folklore, and mythology. I grabbed their last drop, which was Gods of Ancient Egypt with Anubis and Bastet, amazing pieces.

Thanks anthony for throwing some Mythic legions into the mix once in a while! Very nice pieces i started collecting them this year and This is one of those awesome figures you can still find in stock, just like Aracagorr another figure worth reviewing ☺️

Really happy to see you tackling other lines! When I started collecting I was in New Jersey where Four Horsemen are based out of so it became really easy to fall into their stuff. I have to be more discerning nowadays but I try and pick up at least one from each wave. My biggest criticism for their work is the naming conventions are really terrible. Beyond even being unmemorable (there’s a reason the characters of He-Man have what they are or what they do in their name) I think also puts people off from getting invested in the line in a big way because there’s little attachment to who the characters “are”. Still, they look fantastic. I prefer the bigger figures from the line for that reason; they’re great centerpieces.

I think you're gonna love that Headless Horseman, Anthony. You should check out the Valiant Knight, at least in photos and videos, as they updated the articulation to allow far better posing than before. His body is gonna be reused in the upcoming Sir Elijah templar knight, with cloth goods and more accessories. All in all, mythic legions are by far my favorite line out there, they are getting better and better by the year.

I love mine, great shelf appeal, he enhances the look of almost any other figure posed beside him....close to scale.
@jasonpatchen19126 ай бұрын
yea i agree they are way to short but they have that problem throughout the whole line and god forbid you pose him around cause as soon as you do he becomes a loosey goosey mess

I have just ordered my first Mythic Legions. Some standard knight character. Let's see. I've heard great things. It looks like a very interesting figure for the cheap price.

Lmk what you think when you get it
@bradleydias4255 ай бұрын
@@AnthonysCustoms it just arrived. it is very good for the price. I paid roughly 40 bucks and it is really detailed. Not very good articulation. But for a knight character, it's decent. The joints are excellent and tight. I got the Xylernian guard. Loads of accessories. Two heads. An ornate shield that's a bit too heavy for the wrist joint. But in a neutral pose it works fine. I love it. I think you should review some of the cheaper ones like the basic knights or skeletons and monsters. I think anything more expensive is not really for the average collector. But if you like fantasy and want to kinda pick up one or two cool randos you get your money's worth.

I'm a big fan of mythic legions. Although never the best articulation I love the ability to swap parts to make your own characters, without being a customizer, also I'm surprised to see his head pop off so easily, I have a good 6 or 7 of them and all of them is kinda difficult to pop off

Good review, and I am back to watching your channel more because you're branching-out. I had this figure, but gave it up because this size isn't really for me without better articulation, and I also thought the legs were stumpy. I have a couple of these "Ogre-Scale" figures, but 4H really has to do something exceptional for me to buy another this size. Aracagorr (the blue dragon), for example, is so phenomenal that I couldn't pass on it. I would love to hear your thoughts on that figure; same articulation and scale as this one, but the sculpt and paint are on an even higher level.

Bad ass looking figure. I got this one long time ago. But you are right Antonio the legs are shorter. The body proportions look weird. But it's an awesome figure overall
@Hilltopperpete6 ай бұрын
The short legs with the goat is a hard anatomy to proportion. Digitigrade animals have relatively short legs, and blending anatomy types is always going to look a bit off. Fauns always look a little squatty. This is a gorgeous piece though, thanks for reviewing some Mythic Legions!
@AnthonysCustoms6 ай бұрын
Yeah, the problem here is it needed to be digitigrade to make it look right.

The proportion of Four Horsemen figures is what kept me from getting one. You can argue it's a design choice if there are just some with short legs in the line, but all of their figures from humans to orcs to aliens to whatever creatures all have the same short legs, which is just weird.

I have a few and I don't see it, at least with knights. Sure, they're stylized, but many figures nowdays (specially superhero figures) have weirdly long legs which just looks off to me. Specially mcfarlane figures, those have legs for days.

People saying all their figures have short legs are probably accustomed to superhero proportions, who are known to have incredibly long legs and small heads. Mythic legions have more bodybuilder proportions, meaning slightly shorter legs and bigger heads, but as an artist myself, they look fine. People want superhero proportions where they don't apply.
@AnthonysCustoms6 ай бұрын
Body builders don't have short legs and big heads, though and no one is talking about superhero proportions. Idk about the rest of their stuff but this guy is definitely not proportioned correctly. The anatomy makes no sense. The torso and arms are strictly human other than the arms being longer than usual but the legs don't match the rest of the body and having feet that are exclusively on digitigrade legs connected to plantigrade legs makes it even worse.
@SP8inc6 ай бұрын
@@AnthonysCustoms Oh yeah this guy does look weird, I was talking more about the rest of the figures, human figures. They look fine to me, they are stylized but they are beefy figures. I've seen some buff people with shorter legs and big heads, heck I look like that too! I mean, not like the figures, but I do have a big head and short legs lol

@juancarlosmarquez72316 ай бұрын
I think it's fair to review Mythic Legions. I wouldn't say they are still in the small company category (I can already see their products in malls under major toy stores). Proportions on this figure is similar to Aracagorr (very small legs), which is a sort of letdown for me, as Axytoys was able to provide better proportions. Only other complaint I have is compared to both Axytoys and Xesray, their joints are a bit gummy (Xesray from my experience has the best joints even comparing it to imports)
@bravehardy38706 ай бұрын
Yes, "Your" proportion looks weird, or off, but it doesn't look that way on mine, especially in comparison to the soft good.

Yes, the proportions and yes, the articulation BUUUT who else makes knights, orcs, dwarves, vampires, barbarians, skeletons, horses and even a bear, ALL in ONE toyline??? And yes, other indie companies make better action figures but at close to the 100 USD pricemark (without shipping and European import taxes), which makes that Mythic / Cosmic Legions are KING!!!
@sigerlion86086 ай бұрын
I don't like the aesthetics of this guy personally. I mentioned Hero Toys "Big Devil" before and think it's the best devil figure out there. It was about $90 when it came out and now it's double or triple the price on the 2nd hand market. I know you won't review stolen IP, but I just love it and it destroys AzzahahahaZZazz, or whatever it's name is.

The weird proportion and limited articulation are two main reason why I am done with them after one figure from each of their line. The paint job are eye candy, but these are just not for me.

I'd have more Four Horsemen stuff if their figures weren't so expensive in general. It's due to that that I mainly just stick to their troop builders.
@GameTime-yj6qv6 ай бұрын
The short legs don't bother me in this case because he is a demon and can get away with more weird proportions. I have never bought a mystic legions, and don't plan to start. Their sculp work is incredible, great attention to detail and paint applications. But I don't know the characters, so no nostalgia for me. They have poor articulation, and thats a big turn off to me. But I bet they look great standing on the shelf.

as a big fan of Mythic Legions, i like to see people point out flaws, in hopes the company will improve on it. I kinda get tired of the rest of the fan base acting like nothing is wrong, when there have been lots of new issues happening that I noticed in the line, such as quality control, quality in plastic going down or other issues like Anthony mentioned with the legs and proportions. They also have bogus shipping prices and turn around at the rate people get figures in hand. These figures take up to two years to come out, but when others point out those flaws they usually get bashed or gaslighted from the facebook groups. Not sure why t because the criticism helps the company know the problems so they can improve.
