I'm a huge fan of Mety. I've only gotten their original orc so far but I have a few of these currently en route. The first orc is one of my favorite figures in my collection and this new one looks even better. The complexion is more green, the armor looks closer to my preference. These are the perfect Blizzard orcs that I've been wanting for basically my entire life. In addition to that, they have some incredible looking stuff on the way. Just check out their Wonderfest display. They're making goblins, Taurens, more orcs. All kinds of fantasy stuff. They're just killing it. I hate to say it, but I'm slowly army building these out to replace my Mythic Legions stuff. They're that good. These orcs properly tower over ML humans. I still think the Legions orcs are fine, but Memory is making the orcs I want. The only problem with mixing these in is that they actually make the Legions ogres look too small now. I'd be curious to see Anthony review the Lingjihun Gypsy Danger as well. Same company, just different name to do their licensed stuff

I also draw a line with reused sculpts by third party, but this looks good indeed. A “Saurfang” from them would be great! “Kargath” (Bladefist) is the name of the Orc from the Shattered Hand clan on the orcish homeplanet of Draenor in the Warcraft story. A much different character in both Burning Crusade and Warlords of Draenor expansions than what we get here.

Great review as always, Anthony! About the question of the day, for a long time I wasn't interested in 3rd party figures. Back then, the high prices and inaccessability were big factors. And I wanted to support the official product. But now the prices for official or domestic releases are so high that in many cases its now cheaper to get an import or a 3rd party figure. And of course, I was won over by the sheer quality. And many characters that don't exist officially. It's like you said, they actually give a damn and it shows!

I've been collecting 3rd party AF and TFAF for the past 10 to 15 years, I never once bought a KO (I did once but just because there was no chance to get an original for something close to a fair price) so my personal policy is the same as yours Anthony, if the mold is original I'm OK with it. I understand intelectual property and I respect it on a professional level as a creator but as a collector it's a bit diferente. I'm an action figure collector not a things from a franchise I like collector so if the AF or TFAF has an amazing original sculpt, paint and engineering, I will admire it and will probably want it in my collection. I own every figure Memory Toys/Hero Toys/Mety Toyz released, even the exclusives they released under the name Star Studio (Garrosh Hellscream is my favorite) and I will keep on buying them. I surrendered myself to the 3rd party companies passion and quality some time ago and they can have my hard earned money for as long as they keep releasing some of the best AF and TFAF on the market. Thanks for the review Anthony. P.S. The general consensus is that because 3rd party companies only infringe on intelectual property and everything else is 100% original their products are considered original action figures that aren't legal, the bootleg or KO companies that not only infringe on intelectual property but also copy sculpts/molds are considered 100% fake.

I see why you prefer the Mithrill Action (now called Grey Knight), specially that new Forgemaster on preorder, I prefer the Mety ones because they look a bit better proportion wise and the butterfly joints are way better hidden. Have you seen the Star Studio (it's Memory toys under a diferente name) Garrosh Hellscream?!!! He was released with the first Grommash version (it's the same as this new one but it doesn't have cloth pants), the Garrosh is my favorite Orc action figure and I still don't know if the Forgemaster will be able to beat it (even though it may well be). I collect both brands buy the way and if you love Warcraft as much as I do (besides loving great action figures above all else) you will love that Garrosh I'm talking about.

I understand its about their body shape isnt it, mithril action body mold looks more accurate for average orcs in warcraft. But mety toys' mold also work for few slender orcs, like blade master and grommash, both of them supposed to be more slender than average orc.

@brenoferreiraferreira44092 күн бұрын
3rd party companies never use molds from other companies, those that do are called Bootleg or KO companies and not 3rd party. The concept of being a 3rd party company is exactly the fact that even though you steal the intelectual property everything else as to be 100% original.
@rafrecon2 күн бұрын
@ ah I did not know difference. What would be name of companies that molds are like mostly the same as actual companies? Example like Demoniacal fit with dragon ball vegeta and gokus that have the same or almost exact same sculpt?
@brenoferreiraferreira44092 күн бұрын
@@rafrecon This is just a consensus (something that a lot of ppl agree on) and not an ironclad rule (a rule that is absolute and definitive). Sometimes KO/Bootleg companies release original action figures and even original characters but the best 3rd party companies never copy sculptures/molds (be them parts or complete molds). I believe Demoniacal is mostly a bootleg/KO company releasing fake S.H. Figuarts, even if sometimes the sculpt or the engineering is a bit diferente or if they ad some extra accessories or cloth goods.

I think third party is fine. Like you I would draw the line at stolen molds/knockoffs and bootlegs. These as you said are original figures with new sculpts. I think Blizzard have dropped the ball with the Warcraft IP. McFarlane has the license but he is only doing posed/static figures. And they would be fine if not for the fact that they are some generic figures that are a mish mash of classes. People want named characters. They want characters like Illidan, Tyrande, Malfurion, Varian, Garrosh, Thrall, Vol'jin, just to name a few. I bought the Bro Toys "Storm King" totally not Varian Wrynn, and the Hero Toys Demon Killer totally not Illidan figures. They are fantastic and have convinced me of what is possible with third party. I have the Memory Toys Panda warrior (Chen Stormstout) on preorder along with the Titan Toys Frost Knight (Arthas). If you haven't I highly recommend the Illidan and Varian figures if you can get them.

So I do have a question. A while back I asked (though I feel like I shouldn't have) about third party products that are made based on a licensed IP. At the time you said you were not interested, but it seems you have now started to do more of these products. This is great as I really value your reviews, and these products are very expensive at times, so paying that much money without a review first is not something I love doing. The question is will you start doing more of these third party products? Are there any you would not touch, like the Dragon ball third party line for example? Great video and review btw! I don't mean this message to come across in any way rude. English is not my first language.
@AnthonysCustoms2 күн бұрын
Your English beats many native speakers. Questions are always welcome. I will continue to review 3p stuff so long as it doesn't use existing molds (unless someone sends it to me. I don't buy straight up knock offs) Can't say how much I'll review but I'll try.

I do 3rd party and unlicensed figures, like this. I’m with you though, I don’t do the knockoff types - like the Mafex and Revoltech knockoffs. I get that they’re cheaper for a lot of folks than their official counterparts, but I draw my line in the sand there.
@spartancowboyz97792 күн бұрын
The way I see it is if there is a figure in the aftermarket going for 3-4 times the original price, I will buy the knockoff. Final Form Frieza was around $250-$275 when I bought the knockoff of him and I could tell no differences besides the price of the knockoff being $25 shipped. As for other figures being third party, I enjoy that they tackle many of the characters mainline companies don’t. Having a 1/6 scale Vulture from the Spiderman is nice to have in my collection even though no mainline company has made him yet.

That's _my_ guideline I try not to stray too far from. I'm of the mind that licensing or lack there of should matter in the court of law, but not to consumers and collectors. Just like when Hasbro whines endlessly about their shitty figures costing more and more while becoming shittier and shittier (exaggeration, a bit), we as consumers don't give a shit. We want good products at a reasonable price. We don't care about all the laws and regulations and corporate deals giant companies need to follow in order to sell us those products. Same with 3rd party or unlicensed products. We don't care they didn't have to pay for licensing and are engaging in illegal behavior. That's for the corporations to sort out themselves. We as consumers just want good products that are worth the asking price.
