he can pull off most of his in-game pose, but you need a degree to do it tho lol. Only thing that is limiting is the leg section. Storm should pick up the license, or Jada toys. McFarlane aren't any better, that thing looks like a mcdonald toys before I customize mine.

Trunks and Zoro are two of my favourite childhood anime characters. Both of their figures sucking hurt me so bad. It's *shocking* how bad the QC on Trunks is, the design stuff itself is mostly good, but he is an absolute nightmare to mess with thanks to his QC. Zoro is the guy with genuinely poor design. Who decided that his robes should be that thick with no decent cut? His arms can't even make up for it because they explode when he's doing anything dynamic! And while you didn't review him, SHF Loid Forger rivals Trunks with the floppiness, another easy win that they messed up. Bandai are lucky they put out some bangers this year, because otherwise I'd be jumping ship.

It is disappointing, it's especially disappointing how figuarts quality seems to have fallen so much as they've risen in popularity. They seem to have skipped out on additional paint apps, development time and qc in their drive to mass produce their figures. I slowed down my purchasing of their figures in 2022 and only got one or two of them in 2023 and doubt I'll buy another from them. It just doesn't feel worth the price when you can pretty much guarantee you'll likely end up with a figure that is mostly unpainted plastic, likely has weird sculpting choices, and/or will likely have wobbly joints or breaks itself when you try to pose it or even swap out for the extra parts and accessories.

What was a premium collectible became some random unrespected line of figures with lots of QC issues. I sold my entire collection and only got one ssj4 goku left and probably will stay with him and one or two figures ever. Trunks was my way back into the line but seeing how bad the joints are. Hell nah.

The Guts figure... That thing fell apart right in my hands. The crossbow holder snapped off, the leg was stuck, hands wouldn't stay in the pegs, and the weird sticky coating all over the armor.

I think it comes down to patience. These are not limited releases. So one just has to wait till release and check out the reviews. You can usually buy cheaper after release because they do go on sale.

The spiderman 3 pack was the last straw. Releasing the figures individually like a month later with face sculpts was a slap in the face from Hasbro. I wanna say Im 100% in the SH Figauarts camp but they seem to be cutting corners on some of their figs too

Figuarts QC has been the most coin flip it has been in maybe forever imo. I truly never know if I'm going to love a figure or open it once, get disappointed, and put it into storage. Trunks was the most disappointed I've been, probably ever in an action figure. The QC was truly shocking on that one.

I don’t think it was so much that each of the three figures in the set received an individual release. I think it was that the individual releases came with the unmasked heads. Hasbro was asking $90 for the box set which came with the three base figures, two additional sets of hands per figure, and one web effect per figure. For a total of $75, the three individual figures came with the unmasked heads and one set of additional hands. Is it unreasonable for a collector to assume that if they pay $90 for the box set that the $25 individual releases will come with less than or equal to the same two sets of additional hands and one web effect? Now there are two caveats to that. The first is that Hasbro may have told collectors that the individual releases would include unmasked heads prior to the release of the box set. If so, that proves your point. Case closed. I honestly wasn’t paying that much attention because I’m not a MCU collector, so others would have to confirm or deny. The second caveat is that collectors could have simply passed on the box set and waited for the individual releases. Perhaps a case of “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”? That would be a valid point as well. No matter how you slice it though, wouldn’t it have been far better to just include the unmasked heads in the box set in the first place? What was the justification for not doing so? Wouldn’t the additional $5 per figure cover the cost of the second set of hands and the web effect? If Hasbro wasn’t deliberately trying to sucker collectors into buying the figures twice, then what WERE they doing?

I wonder you why imported figures cost so much in the west. For us buying in Hong Kong or Japan it’s about half the price you mentioned. If you consider it’s original price (normally SHF being 2x to 3x of marvel legends price for example) their accessory alone seem to make the figures ok instead of worst.

I have a bootleg version of the trunks and honestly I enjoyed it so much, they fixed so many of the issues, the hips , from what I see were stolen off from the ssj4 Goku which makes them so much better, and none of the arms fall off, if the bootleg is better than ban dai trunks really deserves a spot on this list

Bootlegs either have loose joint tolerances or none at all. It definitely plays into the specific figure they're copying lmao. What may be a floppy original release could become a pretty solid bootleg figure and vice versa.

My guts figure basically exploded the second i took it out of the package but im surprised on the griffith review, ive had plenty of SHFs that fall apart so i think it may be a coin toss across the board QC issue but i actually found him to be one of the better poseable armored figures I’ve gotten with very few faulty tolerance pieces. Main drawback was the domestic price point for me which was insane considering its 80-90 japanese retail.

While I had nothing breaking on number 4 (yet) and was to do some hero with guns and vanilla poses, I concede many of the criticisms such as the shoulders, paint application that doesn’t match the source material, tiny hands for the biggest “normal” arms in video game history, gappy joints that can be barely be hidden, hips not being strong enough for the weight of the upper body. It is indeed night and day when put next to what should have been the ideal partner.

damn bro i JUST bought trunks the day after christmas and got guts like last month😭 just for them to be in this list but to be fair the trunks sword sheath straps tend to pop out of their pegs and legs are wobbly. though the right arm pops out sometimes it’s really not as bad but still paying 70 for it and having that out the box is annoying bit of a let down. also seeing doomslayer on here hurts because i was tempted to get him but he’s so expensive.

The trunk figure is my worst figure of the year. His arm comes off when posing. but the biggest problem is the belt for the sword doesn’t want to stay on at all. I had two of them and both had the same problem. And the sword paint job wasn’t great. Mine had lines on it.

Can't agree much at all. The Spider-Man 3 pack was a tad overpriced, and they did release better ones after, but the pack still is the best of the Integrated Suit, one of the best ASM2 figures there is, and a pretty decent representation of Tobey's NWH look. Also bought the Guts SHF, which might be one of my favorite figures I got this year. I didn't have any issues with mine, have him supporting the sword on his own on display. Doesn't even sound like you're talking about the same figures.

Hiya or Neca is the only 2 that I think can do the Slayer justice

Sentinel could do him right, it would just cost a ton. If you're talking domestic figures, then Neca could nail the appearance for sure, but articulation might not be much better than McFarlane@@ORLY911

Sad they did such a bad job with the Berserk line. I had it in an ok pose and the hand fell off. Also the knife that pegs on his belt always falls off. Luckily I got it for 40% off during a black Friday sale. Figuarts needs to step up there game. Lots of bad figures for high price points.

Suprising no super 7 figures on the list. Every figure I've gotten from them in last 2 years have either had so loose joints it couldn't hold its weight to stand up, or does not match the promo pic.

I grab just about every Figuarts DB release but Pan and that Broly were the easiest passes for me. Not even a second thought. Porunga is overpriced but goes hard in my display. I love mine.
