the body is the spiderman 2099 (sandman wave) body so its the one human torch, havok, etc are on but the shoulders/arms are the same as the last falcon they did, which had different arms/shoulders as any of the other figures using this body, including the unique arms from shang chi

Yeah, that's the only thing that sucks about the Sunfire body mold. Those ugly small as shoulders. It was a great thing, that Hasbro finally fixed it with 2020's release of Shang-Chi and 2020's Joe Fixit wave Falcon. But... for whatever reason, Hasbro still continues to use the old A.N.A.D. Spider-Man 2099/Sunfire body mold's small shoulders.

I think all Marvel Legends should include an alternate head with a more dynamic expression. I’m fine with stoic neutral as the default, but there should also be an expression that really represents the character in whatever outfit they’re wearing. Like a wholesome smile for classic Cap, a more aggressive face for modern Cap, a sneering face for Emma Frost, etc., it would just do a lot in adding character to the figures when they otherwise look really similar.

I really enjoy the facial expressions on figures. Maggott looks like a definite buy (on the secondhand market, I’m not made of money), and I am looking forward to Ulik more than almost any figure this year because of his huge toothy grin! I might even pick up the first appearance Sabertooth just for the big grin. Probably not though, I like Jim Lee’s design and a huge Sabertooth and the Select one scales so well with the short ML Wolverines. Plus I got him for $15.

Hey Anthony! Any possibility of you making a video on costs of producing a figure? Like how much an extra head adds, etc. Obviously it's going to be tricky as I guess there's a lot of tooling and stuff that comes into place when something is not reusable, but yeah

I wouldn't be able to do that since it's different based on all kinds of things i don't know about each manufacturer. It is expensive though but the cost is spread across all the thousands of figures.

I'm all for expression heads. I usually have them standing in stoic poses, but I would love to switch it up and have them almost posing for a team picture (I'm thinking Watchmen) type of pose. A smile seems weird, I guess? But I love my MCU Ant-Man smiling amongst the rest of the Avengers with their mannequin faces. Angry, screaming, smiling heads, please.

I do stop motion, so I do want default neutral heads, but alternate heads with different expressions really help with that and the more the better.

That costume is a good look for Falcon. It doesn't look like it's from the 1970, and it keeps the red and white color scheme. So it honors the old costumes wile updating the look. I don't know why they changed his colors to black and red. That was a bad idea.

This really isn’t a bad figure IMO. The legs are a little on the skinny side (he looks like he has chicken legs), but that can be posed away and while I think the glossy skin is kind of weird it’s only really noticeable up close. He does look great next to my 20th Aniv. Cap so he’s pretty great by my standards

My favorite Falcon costume is the 70s/80s Bronze Age version. I’m not sure in what Marvel Universe this costume is “classic”, but I like it in and of itself, and I suppose it’s close enough. If we only get one head, I prefer neutral expressions, but two heads would be better of course.

My ML display is all based on the 70s/80s looks, so for the longest time I was stuck with the janky old Toy Biz Falcon. However I did upgrade to this one because it's the closest we're likely to get to Hasbro doing the classic costume, there are a few differences (mainly the lack of a massive gap down the front of the costume to show off his perfectly formed pecs) but it's far closer than anything else we've had lately. I still need Hasbro to do classic versions of Power Man and Iron Fist as they're two more Toy Biz figures still on my shelf. I suppose I've gotten to replace Doctor Strange and Falcon this year so it's not been so bad really. I just need them to re-release the classic costume Black Widow and Vision figures because I missed those at the time and their after-market prices are eye-watering in the UK. Again, Toy Biz comes to the rescue but their versions do NOT hold up next to the more recent figures on my Avengers shelf.

If we can't get 2 heads, I really think everyone should get at least a slightly positive/negative expression. (Slight grin or scowl... Like the mcu white widow) Humans rarely have a dead neutral expression in real life... There's always something little to show their gears are turning. It's weird to me, to have a shelf full of expressionless zombie robot dolls (actual robots excluded). I feel like small expressions is a decent compromise that could work for displays AND ABCA.

Too many of these retro figures are just repaints without a BAF piece and higher price. It looks like that's going to be a common theme though, based on what they're trying to do with the reissue black panther figures.

Question 1: I too am a fan of the Falcon on the package and kinda wish the figure more reflected that unless there was some variation in the comics (Guys I'm not a comic encyclopedia, bear with me) Question 2: Expressive heads are always welcome IMO, especially for figure photographers like myself. Some characters make sense to look stoic, but in a lot of cases it's better to have the option of some expressiveness like a cocky smirk or just anything beyond a blank stare. Even just a raise of the eyebrow is enough to convey attitude. If nothing else, it adds value to a figure .

I've been waiting on a classic look for Falcon with a large v cut on the chest, yellow claws on the feet, shorter wings and a Redwing as an accessory. I believe it will eventually be released so I've been skipping all these recent versions until Hasbro decides to release the one I want.. For the $25 Hasbro has been charging every Marvel Legends should come with their respective weapons (shields, guns, staffs, hammers, companions/critters, etc), an extra pair of hands, an extra head and at least an effect accessory. Hasbro should be making new molds with better proportionate bodies that meet the body type requirements be them male, female, fat, skinny, athletic, heroic, etc. Hair, capes, wings, jackets, hoods, belts, claws, etc need to be addressed case by case but all should be well engineered, sculpted and painted. The articulation should be well engineered and implemented enabling every point to reach the maximum range. The paint and paint finishes should be on par with the old ToyBizz Marvel Legends and that is to say the least. Since they developed the pinless joint technology they should try and implement it on every new mold they release. Every body type (when I say every I mean every time the character design allows it) should have the following articulation points: Double ball joint for the head and neck. Butterfly joints with ball hinged shoulders that are able to grab a sword with both hands in front of the chest and reach a perfect T pose if not a bit more. Arms should have bicep swivels, double jointed elbows and ball hinged wrists. The torso and waist should have a double ball joint even though as long as the range is good enough well implemented single ball joints can sometimes do the trick. The hips can be ball jointed as long as they are able do the side splits and a 45º kick or maybe a bit higher (they should implement drop down hips if need be). Legs should have a thigh swivel and double jointed knees. The ankles should be ball hinged and have rockers. If for $25 Hasbro was applying these AF guide lines in every ML being released, they would be my favorite company releasing my favorite line, they would probably be considered the AF kings and would be very hard to dethrone. One of millions of Hasbro stupid decision is that the shirtless Shang chi body mold looks way better with his new shoulders and arms than the regular Sunfire body mold but they never use that mold ever again accept with the new comic book falcons and Vulture on Pizza Spidey mold. Any reason why Hasbro didn't use the shirtless Shang chi mold again? Don't know! But do I surprised that Hasbro never does anything right? Nope!
