It is a quicker way to drop people down than listening to a song from each of them, this way you only get a few lines or words in some cases, you can tell from a few words if someone can sing or not so i see why they put them into groups and the whole point of having the X-factor is you should be able to sing anything with anyone and they want to see in a group of a few people who shines and stands out and who just blends in and is boring.. They want to see who will be remembered and who won't, if you don't see why they do this then you don't get music. You said "its pointless they preform together anyway when they are individual musicians but each got a part to sing aloe and sow what they can do apart from the girl group because they will be singing together anyways. Anyways don't individual musicians sing with other singers on records all the time, if you can sing you should be able to sing with anyone and if you are good then you could sing with Beyonce, Riri, Adele, and still hold your own if you got it.. So after my long rant it is clearly to see can they work with others and still be a star or will they get dragged down and not show up.......
