@purplebeard1526
@purplebeard1526 4 жыл бұрын
First, Chuck D has bars for days--this song isn't even his best work. Second, the song was a PE original from their album It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. 3rd, Anthrax was mentioned in the orginal, then, whey they wanted to make a cover of it they got up with PE and made it happen. 4th, where as Aersomith and RUN DMC Walk This Way came first, that was rock and rap, this was METAL and rap doing a collab. If you dig this, check out Onyx and Biohazard covering Slam by Onyx. Then, you HAVE to get into that Judgement Night soundtrack.

He was the perfect hype man, but he also had to purposely play the clown just to lighten the mood - if you had a whole album of Chuck just spitting furious righteousness with no break, you'd wanna neck yourself by the end of it. Flav had a very specific purpose.

Sonny Bono was a musician in the 70s. He was famous for being married to / musical partners with Cher. They released albums, they had a super famous variety show, he had a few acting roles, some are classics.It was after that when he ended up getting into government in later life, and that was when he died in a skiing accident. He skied into a tree.

You gotta love Flava Flav! The track has been on my playlist for a LONG time, it's the perfect marriage of metal and hip-hop. Members of both groups were already fans of the other genre, which I think helps this kind of thing to work!

Technically, its just Body Count. Ice-T is their frontman. I have to say though, I have enjoyed him more with Body Count than most of his rap work LOL. Don't get it twisted though, as he can still rap circles around most MCs out today and one of the few MCs that can rap to standard rap beats and rock/metal beats.

PE first did the song, but this version exists for the sole reason these two groups respected the shit out of each other! Back when this sort of shit was pretty much career suicide for a white metal band, Anthrax said "fuck it, we like these cunts", and this was born. Will ALWAYS respect Anthrax for that!
