First, politics is always local and/or personal, Bruh. I hate to break your heart, but there are many greedy and hungry politicians from the South who will be ready and gladly jump at the number 2 position when and if offered. That knocks out problem 1 above. Second, President Tinubu is in a hole and rather than stop digging, I should add - a wise and excellent advice for anyone who finds himself/herself in a hole, the president is doubling down on failures as if he is the alpha and omega of Nigerian politics. Remember that a vast majority of Yorubas buy from the same markets as other hungry Nigerians and the high prices food and other commodities are non-discriminatory. Western political elites no longer know how to spell "restructuring," in fact the word has been banished from their lexicon, and the West is not now going to teach the North how to spell or say restructuring. They will simply refuse to learn. There lies the Nigerian national political conundrum! I have left out the East, North Central/Middle Belt and South South because their views in total count much less. So, if General Obasanjo and General Gowon come together and coalesce the groups, anything is possible with or without a new Nigerian constitution. One only need to see the States that APC won in the election that brought Mr. Tinubu to power. For these reasons, "conducting elections with the present constitution" is not a waste of time. The bigger and more significant question in my mind is, will the new political coalition bring anything different to Nigerians than Mr. Tinubu's government? A resounding answer is probably NOT, unfortunately. There is no foundation for this trinity of governance in our cultures, and we have been wasting our time all the years talking about the executive, legislature and judiciary. There isn't a single benefit to the vast majority of the Nigerian citizenry at the Federal, State and Local Government level. MHO.

Dr. Amadi, coming to the issue of Ohaneze, you are a man of rule of law as a lawyer. You were crying when INEC refused to follow their own rules during the 2023 elections. Ohaneze did not follow its constitution in selecting the president of Ohaneze in Enugu. Why did the election took place in Enugu instead of port harcourt. You can’t return any candidate on consensus basis when they were other candidates vying for the same position. Barr uche Okwukwu is heading to court to nullify whatever they did in Enugu period.

APC didn't work and don't see any coalition working outside PDP. Structural politics is very key in our political space. Coalition of strange bed fellows never represents national interest in governance. After the win the leadership of this coalition disintegrates from the party and become regional political gangsterisim with the president acting independently. This also has weakened the national assembly. Who ever emerges president through this coalition focuses on hijacking the national assembly where the opposition also succumbs to everything. This is with the conviction that only the national assembly would be it's obstacle. Nigerians must realise the importance of a political party with a national interest and outlook. We must set a standard for the emergence of any political parties that would want to unseat the incumbent.
