Relating to the last point and bringing the discussion into present day politics, is there a perverse way that the efforts of the extremists in the GOP in seeking to reduce the federal debt and deficit through a government shutdown or not raising the debt ceiling can be understood as “anti-capitalist” in their effect…to the extent these efforts hasten the system’s crisis? I ask this knowing the consequences would be devastating to working people and that I very much do not share or want to live in their vision of a society, whether it is post-capitalist or something else.

I agreed with the point that it will hasten the crisis and burden especially the working class. But then again with the unlimited credit system that is rather oppressive in itself. What Mr. Harvey suggested from the video at least from my understanding is, if producer has no money and buy commodities on credit, and market has no money and buy finished product on credit, then what it means is they paying by the demand of future labour to pay for the value of past labour. Now why i brought this up is because when u mentioned working class it has close relation with labour. And when this has been going for hundreds of years the child born today is just paying for the past labor because there is no money in the market in first place. And we have arrived in that age, everyone only work to pay for the value of past labor.

MMT is the actual answer to the macro question of where net liquidity comes from. Not just credit, but mainly federal deficits. Marxism handles some of the micro, MMT handles the macro.
