Hi There thanks for such a great informational videos. They are very helpful. can you please advise if its better to apply for dental assisting course first and then do dental hygenist course? My niece has juts passed her +2 with bio, chem,maths. She has got 85% marks. We are really confused as I looked up online it looks like admission in dental hygenist is bit hard. Please do reply, would really apprceiate any help. Thanks Kuljit

Hello, Thank you for your appreciation for our work. 🙏🏻 It is correct to understand that Dental Hygiene is a saturated in Canada especially for International students. And dental assisting is a course that may only offer one year work permit after the course ends. So i would recommend targeting dental assisting and for a second course, you can target an office administration course. This way a valid 3 year work permit is accumulated and that too for courses that are still available. Hygiene is extremely saturated and admissions are rare.

@@TheToothFactory Thanks for the reply. So do you think she can get admission in Dental assisting first and then after completing it should apply for Denatl hygenist. that way I hope it would be bit easier to get in Dental Hygene?

So i strongly believe at this point in time, dental hygiene is a course that one must opt for after attaining PR. This is because of the saturation of admissions for international students. A dental assistant course will help the applicant work in dental clinic and the second course i suggested “office administrator “ will help the applicant work in a clinic as a management officer as well. So if one has both dental assistant and office admin licenses, then they are an asset to a clinic. I would have suggested hygiene is it was still valid but try to steer away from it until the applicant has become a PR.
