Those who say that because they've gone to certain shows or listen to certain punk music that somehow that makes them a punk, are not punk. Punk is rebellion against the social norm by whatever means you choose.

11 years late update This is not a comment on your perspective, nor influenced by my own, but when this was retranscribed, there was miscommunication regarding that line. The lyrics "non commie" are actually intended "non-commy" referring to non-conformism, rather than something resembling better dead than red. The writer of these lyrics, who you may recognize for songs like I ain't got no home in this world anymore and this land is your land, was union man, communist drifter, americana folk singer, Woody Guthrie. Have a good eleven more years.
