Anti-Oedipus Primer Pt 1 | Michel Foucault's Preface to Deleuze and Guattari's "Anti-Oedipus"

In this three-part lecture series, I'll be giving a primer for anyone interested in starting to digest Deleuze and Guattari's work but feels lost. Their work is infamously difficult and novel, yet it's one of my favorites. This series should help one grow acclimated to D&G's project and begin to tackle "Anti-Oedipus" (the work I recommend all who wish to learn D&G start with). Michel Foucault's preface to the work is eloquent and sums up extremely well the goals and guidelines underpinning D&G's project. I'll contextualize all these points as well as read with the text on the screen so that one may get a better grasp of their thought. Enjoy!

Ian Buchanan is a wonderful scholar when it comes to applying D&G to the real world. I believe he’s doing a project right now applying their work to city planning with another scholar, but he’s done a lot of good work on D&G and the internet. His assemblage theory and method is a standalone work in terms of its prestige. Manuel DeLanda is also pretty cool, focusing mostly on the birth and structure of cities, states, and economies. Both scholars are in an infamous battle over large-scale interpretative questions about D&G’a work (Buchanan is definitely on the right side) but they’ve both been very helpful for me.

@gavinyoung-philosophy pure luck. My friend was a theater major. When I asked him about Artaud, he mentored knowing if him via his association with Jarry and the foundation of obscene theater which matured into :the theater and its twin", or theater of cruelty. Rally interesting stuff. Thanks

@gavinyoung-philosophy parting shot: of you're into Jarry and Artaud then Wesley Willis and Daniel Johnson are critical in a contemporary sense. Former schizo latter same plus probably autistic both prolific artists. Maybe not pop like Jean Baptiste bit easily as escaped via lines of flight.
