I've got a field gun/AT gun on the workshop. You should check it out. But to add some "realistic" effects to it add a suspension piston or two so the gun recoils back into them. Also to support the gun's weight, because it will be connected to the elevation pivots by only those suspension pieces at that point, add a rail and gripper system where the main part of the gun has the gripper and it slides on a rail that is connected to the elevation pivots. It works great and it makes the gun recoil back and it looks cool. Just set the suspensions to really low, like 2%. But also, I'd suggest looking at mine because I have an auto breach opening logic on it. It's basic logic pieces, so it's something that can be replicated easily, but it's convenient to have the gun open up when it's not loaded and to keep closed after you've loaded in a new shell and to not keep closed if you've closed an empty breach. It just goes from pressing a button on and off to work the breach to just pressing a push button once to close it and firing the cannon to open it.

I’ve been watching all your recent Stormworks vids but realized I wasn’t subbed-now I am! On my first AT/infantry gun build I discovered that “slam fire” effect if you use a toggle as trigger-better to use a push button I think unless the enemy vehicle is sitting still.

I use mainly HE but I use Incendiary for Machine guns and Rotary Autocannons/Miniguns. Tier List: S: High Explosive A: Incendiary, Fragmentation B: Armour Piercing C: Kinetic

@@dirrey193 I don't think there is a difference in AOE for AP or Kinetic. I'm pretty sure kinetic is cheaper when in career, but that is the only difference.

HE is ussually better since it deals a bigger damage area. AP would be better if the target had an armoured block barrier between the exterior and the vital components (altho i need to check if the heavy autocannon/cannons AP rounds explode after penetrating like they did IRL)
