Those are beautiful skates! Love the laces too! Thank you for sharing this, Marilyn!🥰🥰

I don't think the lack of tools is actually antiks fault. Tools typically come with the plate as there is no adjusting the boot itself, reactor provided the plate and therefore the tools. I just got new antiks with arius plates and only got a hex key (that's all that arius requires) and no other tools. So I think that the tool gripe is with the plate manufacturer.

I love the look of these 😍 but I can't go past my Bont's. Because they've got an anatomical toe box which is actually shaped like a foot, both pairs I've never had any break in time.

Thanks for the review of these skates. ☺️ I have a pair of Lollys, which I love, but wanted to try a comfy low boot for the rink. Basic moves, no fancy jamming. They look like they’re fun to skate in and handle well. I see people with derby skates at the rink all the time.
@SensationallySilky2 жыл бұрын
Halfway through my freshie cycle I stopped rolling both my Lollies and my 172s in favor of my derby skates in the rink. I figured out that my derby skates also have a shorter plate mount which makes a huge difference in agility. I much prefer having my ankles free!
@jeaninejulian25962 жыл бұрын
@@SensationallySilky Thanks Tracey, I trust your feedback since you do both derby and the rink. I have practice sessions on a basketball court, in addition to the rink, and I noticed the lower skates increase my confidence and agility. I love Moxis, but my small collection has leaned more towards skates like these!

Aright, we get it - there's no free tool. Go to ANY skate shop and skate-adjacent apparel shop and pick one up for $12. You know, the multi-tool that fits nearly every plate and skateboard truck made in the last 30 years? The one that doesn't require you to remove wheels to adjust the kingpin nut? Video could have been several minutes shorter and a lot more interesting without the complaining.
@MarilynTantrum Жыл бұрын
Sorry you didn’t like the video. Just a raw reaction vibe. I know I can go to a skate shop and grab one. Never had to before. Thanks for the feedback.
@AndreSjoberg2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I’m a bit confused, you are holding up a handfull of tools, that fit the reactor pro plate perfectly - the hex in the bag is for the toestop clamp, the large single mini-wrench is for adjusting the kingpin-nut and the double wrench is for adjusting the length of the pivot pin depending on how much you tighten or loosen the kingpin nut to keep the hanger at the correct angle. They also included a crab tool since it has the correct size for the wheel nuts, so all the tools that fit the plate is there - how do they not fit the plate? On all reactor pro mounts I do the tools always fit the nuts they are meant for, and I’ve never experienced that they don’t fit or have been manufactured wrong.

Hi 👋 Yes you could imagine my frustration and yes like I said - I was gas lighting myself and getting very upset. I went back to the skate shop and they were also shocked. They gave me a tool that was meant to be in the box and the issue was solved. I even took ever tool that was in the box.
@AndreSjoberg2 жыл бұрын
@@MarilynTantrum But the tools you are holding up at the start of the video, those are the correct ones that come in the box if you order a set of reactor plates, how did they not fit? And what tool did they give you at the skate shop?
@tgull762 жыл бұрын
Do you still have the reactor plate? Or did you find that you switched it out for something else? I am getting a second pair of AR2s and am contemplating which plates to get for derby. Thank you for all your videos!!!

Hey Coach...Im thinking of getting these In the vegan white however...the Jackson Supreme viper alloy outdoor is what it's up against and I'd like your opinion. Oh...and I'm out in upstate NY so there is NO skate shop for hundreds of miles so I'm stuck online ordering and installing upgrades myself. Which I'll need some extra help with my new neo Reactor plates when they arrive, that is of course if you have the time. Thank you so much for being open to our questions. My Coach is #1
@SensationallySilky2 жыл бұрын
The rink I skate at when I'm not on the track has rentals that look like this boot... Now I gotta ask, and try a pair (I'm ready for a derby upgrade).
@ardencassie51503 жыл бұрын
Surprised you didn’t get the tools you needed. My antiks came with the right tools out of the box (albeit cheap ones). Usually it’s up to the manufacturer of the plate that includes the tools not the boot maker.
@JonesWicks3 жыл бұрын
I thought the tools she showed are the right ones for the Reactor plate. King pin nut and truck spanners. The same as that came with mine. But yes, they're cheap ones.
@MarilynTantrum3 жыл бұрын
hiya! thanks for the comments. I wish they came with the right tools. Hence why I was so confused and started gas lighting myself! NO THEY MUST FIT! ITS ME! upon feedback from other Skater folks, the tools do not fit and I had to buy another tool. thanks for the support.

What you haven't mentioned is that setup cost around 1300 so I wouldn't say they'd be a first pair , wouldn't a y3 or y4 tool work if you have one from been skating awhile?

How do you find the " sweet spot" on the trucks? What should it feel like? Wobbly? How do you know you have the adjustment right?
@MarilynTantrum Жыл бұрын
Great question - do a one foot glide’ are you wobbling? If so maybe more tight.
@1crafter2another Жыл бұрын
@@MarilynTantrum yes, I get the wobble on a 1 foot glide. Also get it on a heel manual, just popping the toes up on one foot.

@laurielawlessshelterbehavior Жыл бұрын
You can use a socket wrench and then you don't have to take the wheels off to adjust. That's probably why they don't include it.

Hit up your local skate shop if you can. It’s good to support local business and they’ll have good advice for you. Just remember the gum balls are a soft compound and you’ll run through them quickly on rough concrete.

yeah that is a huge oversight that they dont put in the correct tools... especially since this is a standard package they offer... I would have been annoyed by that as well. Otherwise they look awesome!
