Being an introvert, left home for the first time in life to live in university hall and surviving seniors' guestroom cultures- I had come through such challanges and that costs me a lot. I'm an ambivert; quite the mix of both introvert and extrovert. So the thing is, I stayed in my previous school for about 8 years. Now that I have changed schools, I'm a bit shy around others. Ngl but my new classmates are really friendly when I ask for help. Basically, I'm anxious about asking for something, I rarely ask for help from others. All of this is so true! I am an introvert. Not only could I not talk to people but social situations also gave me terrible migraine attacks! During my undergrad freshman year I literally did not speak to anyone unless it was an absolute necessity. One of my classmates told me they thought I had some sort of speech impediment which prevents me from talking to people. Over the years I have learnt to fake it. This especially happened after I moved to the US for my PhD. I fake being interested in stuff and let the others talk as I go "Ah ha!" "Yeah that makes sense!" "Oh that's awful!"; etc. etc. 😅 I still hate it and get headaches but I've learned to make it all somewhat manageable.

It's not a hate comment just a personal opinion. I've been an introverted and shy person from the very beginning of my life. I could sing well, but I was always scared to hold the microphone in front of the crowd. My elder sister had exactly the opposite nature. She wasn't good at extracurricular activities, but she was bold and confident. That's what made her the light, and I was the one hiding behind her. My parents used to get angry with me for being like this. After a certain time, I realised that I would always remain unnoticed like this. I wanted to be like my sister. That's the moment I decided to fake being an extrovert. I started to understand the conversation tactics. It was easy for me to learn new things. At first, my hand used to be shaking and sweating while talking to someone. Soon, I adapted the quality. I started being fake. But with time, my fakeness wasn't captivated in the being extrovert shell. I started to be fake, kind, and a people pleaser. And finally, the worst, I forgot what I actually used to feel. I still can't differentiate how I actually wanted to react or how I am reacting. I don't know how I feel, actually. I tell people I love them, I think I love them, but actually I don't. Or I'm not sure even if I do. Fakeness gave me appreciation in the early time. But the ultimate result is horrible. Now I can't go back to normal even. I don't know now if those benefits were worth it. This is definitely a malpractice. Being something forcefully what you aren't actually is a total disaster. There are always ways towards the solution, but being fake can never be a praiseworthy solution. Don't do this, don't tell people to do this too.

Also a personal opinion here. I think it's okay to do what Antik bhaiya said here, but only upto a limit. You have to fake being an extrovert in front of relatives and other not-so-close-to-you people only for the sake of socialization (because it's for your ultimate benefit). But you also gotta remember to keep it at that, never pretend to be someone else in front of others if your ultimate goal is to be close to them. Because, if you truly want to mix with them, at one point or other you will automatically show them your true nature, and you never know how they might take it. Basically, this video only applies if you want to socialize with people for your academic/career development, and it's definitely a no-no in case of establishing personal relationships.

Turns out I started to do the same since the start of my university life(I was the ultimate introvert till my college life). But you can't continue this for a long time. You tire up yourself by doing so. Just like how I feel currently. So, my suggestion would be not to fake being a extrovert. Be yourself. Just try to communicate when necessary. I don't know whether it will help you or not. But, believe me I'm extremely exhausted by doing it(faking being an extrovert). আসলেই শুধুমাত্র invtrovert হওয়ার কারণে immature এর আশেপাশের শব্দগুলো আমাকে অনেক শুনতে হয়ছে । আমি জানি সামনের মানুষটা সারাদিন বকবক করলেও আমি কথার Topic খুঁজে পাই না । আমার জন্য gender matter করে না , সামনের মানুষটা যদি কথা বলায় আমার থেকে বেশি পারদর্শী হয় তবে আমি অসস্হি বোধ করি । সবচেয়ে ফানি কথা হলো ক্লাসে হঠাৎ প্রশ্ন করতে গেলে আমি 'ত' কে 'ট' উচ্চারণ করি । অবশ্য দিনকাল এখন ভালোই যাচ্ছে , নিজের একান্ত কথাগুলো এখন আমার একান্ত ই থাকে । নতুন কলেজে আমার মতো মোটামুটি একটা introvert বন্ধু পাইছি । অন্য কিছু নিয়ে ভাবছিনা , আমার যে communication skill জানি ঐরকম কিছু আমার possible না । আর আমার মতো introvert রা , চিন্তার নেয়ার কোনো কারণ নাই , "লাইফ প্যারাহীন"😅❤

As an introvert I can confirm these tricks work. I still do this and people think I can easily talk with anyone . When I was in college, I had to suffer a lot as I have social anxiety and could never start a conversation as a result only my school friends (2people only) were my ONLY friends in college .My college mates dont even know that I studied with them .

I gradually became an ambivert but I love it. Let me explain - we are happy, comfortable and contended to spend time alone, but we are also not uncomfortable to spending time with someone else for some time. We are not uncomfortable to be in a social gathering but we also do not like prolonged social gatherings. Our batteries gets drained if we spend too much of a social life, so we need quite some time alone to recharge ourselves. But we do like social settings, but also value our own time. If a friend calls somewhere at the last minute an extrovert will accept without hesitance, introverts will deny in order to stay in. Ambiverts will analyse the pros and cons of that particular outing. They could go either way. We would be the person who will want to be in a party but at the same time will not want to be in the party! I love this balance seriously I will keep it this way. Overall, I wonder if I made the right decision from an being introvert to an ambivert, but kemon jani ei transition phase ta amar life ta aro content and satisfy kore felse amake.
