Interesting video, I worked for a short time in a combination newspaper/print shop in a small town. One of my jobs was to take the used type from the Linotype machine and melt it down to be re-used.

I had a few of the old 216.5 motors back in the 70s and scattered around on up through the 80s 90s and 2000s. As long as they have 10 pounds of oil pressure when they’re warm and full and idling and the oil is not too thick or too thin, the scoops on the rod will pick it up out of the troughs and the mains are pressure fed like a 235, so they’ll go down the interstate in the slow Lane 55 to 60 all day if they’re not pumping a lot of crud around in the hall. Remember they had add on oil filters and some didn’t get them when they were purchased. all these above things I have listed determine whether or not you can run them reasonably hard or whether you have to baby them if they’re loose or filthy inside.

Either one of these two Cars I would see $3500.00 in either. Model A or Chevrolet Coupe. That A should bring the most between the two. That Lincoln Cont. Should bring $25,000. - $45,000.00 depening on the Bidders.

I don’t remember the exact order, but you could count the amount of freeze plugs/core plugs and whether there were three or five determine whether the motor was a 144, 170, 200 etc. also the factory color played in on it but I don’t remember that rule either it’s been a long time. Seems like the 144s were mostly all yellow and then there were the orange 170s but don’t quote Me on that and then the bigger motors were blue.I went through a spell of buying and flipping Econo lines and Falcons in the 70s.

'Drop the clutch at 30', god save us from boogar eatin' morons. Tim had the perfect reply. Put yer eyeballs in the bores before you turn engines that haven't run in 20+ years, always bore rust, sometimes crunchy mice. Those engines used to get rebuilt in the car at gas stations.

At 1:15:00, that 40 Chevy coupe, great candidate for Kustom or a Gasser. Sexy body lines and that cicada insect face. It wants to keep living, look at her! Then I saw the Feld badge on the back, yep, St. Louis. When I was a kid, the TV commercial was, 'Feld, The Red-Hot Dealer." Was in the late 70s and 80s, a jingle sung by a female voice, on both KMOX TV CBS Channel 4 and many local AM radio stations, including KMOX 1120, WRTH 800, KEZK 1200, and KSD 550. One FM station Feld was adverting too, KSHE 95.5. I'm 58 and still remember those times. You wanted a car? Go to Feld, it was The Red Hot Dealer!

It's funny how single cab longbox pickups worked great for 70 years and now they are useless for some people. I would love to drive it and use it as a truck. Which 90% of people don't do anymore.

People were mostly honest for so many years. Now not so much. It used to be that most places things were safe in the bed of a truck. Now you need to lock everything up. This is one reason you need a larger cab.

Amazing, that model A sound s like my 8N tractor.. :)..it's refreshing to watch a channel where the creator's first 2 moves upon acquiring an old car isn't (A)- get it running and (B)-lowering it, because they all need lowering...not necessarily in that order...

Market prices fall in a certain range for every vehicle. I search comparables on classic.com, Bring A Trailer, and eBay. Each decade antique cars and trucks continue to become scarcer with natural forces of attrition, so the values tend to go up. A multitude of other driving factors work that direction too - including increased visibility of the hobby via cable TV shows, the internet, and people holding cars as investments (instead of in 401Ks or other accounts).
