Antique Clock Westminster chime in working order with silent function

Hi there-many thanks to a very informative video! You have answered all my questions in one easy to follow presentation clear and precise and an exercise which I have search on U tube for a long time with no success until now-perfect for me! I recently bought a Garrard mantel Westminster chime clock 1935-40 from a auction fayre which came with the problems you have illustrated so as of today I’m now in a position to move forward with positive results with job satisfaction and enjoyment along the way! That lever always confused me. I always thought my clock was screwed up after putting it on silent. I would correct it by taking the hands off. Thank you for this!
