If you don't have access to HVAC equipment either, I've read that putting the bearing into a largy syringe with some oil is a lot better than nothing, even though it's not that much of a vacuum.

I have an old Cadillac hand-held vacuum. It is really powerful. Do you know anything about these?

Omg I have one of these.. I've not tried to see if it works yet...mine is in a little better shape tho.

I'll bet it will need some work. Bearings need to be lubricated after 80 years lol.

How did you get the metal fan off the rotor housing
@madmanmapper3 жыл бұрын
Very carefully. The fan is held by a set screw. It came out willingly. I kept the rotor shaft and set screw hole soaking in PBlaster for well over a week. Then rocked the fan until it loosened up. Still, I think I had to use two screw drivers to pry it off.

@@madmanmapper I'm trying to get the motor to make a wind turbine. I'll keep working on getting to the inner components, shouldn't be too difficult, plus it doesn't run when I plug it in but the copper looks in very good shape and it's the old school version like yours with the big motor, excited for the project!

that brush roll looks a lot like a Royal brush roll.

the whole thing may have been replaced at some point

Royal's brush roll will work in these. That's what I put in mine. It's just a little loose.
