Reminds me of my beloved Mother-in-law so much, she passed away in 2006, after a long 10-year battle with Alzheimers. This song says it all, so soothing in a way to think about if they are comforted by memories of a much earlier time in their lives.

Someone find me a more heartbreaking song than this. You can't. It gets me every time.

Makes me think of my grandfather... he had Alzheimer's. I took care of him during his last 2 years. I learned to recognize the look in his eyes that told me he didn't know what was going on around him. Most of the time he thought his wife was his mother. He became so childlike, and fragile. I try to remember the man he was before that.

Oh Antje- you made this 64 year old man cry. My mom had Alzheimer's. It still hurts.

This one too, except I was 62 the first time. Still has the same effect, though.

Probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Speaks volumes to the human condition.

Thanks for honoring my request so many years ago in Dahlonega. This is for my grandmother Emily Prutzman, 1891-1983. When held your hand and said your name, it left your heart in your throat.

A special (yes a bit uplifting) song for those who have family members with Alzheimer's /dementia. A ray of sunlight in an otherwise challenging disease.

This is the second time Antje has written “The Song That Makes Me Weep”. But this one hits me right in the feels, hard. HARD. I can’t get through the first chorus.

This is a great live version of a wonderful song. The lyrics in the original are a little more clear and you can hear them if you search for the same song on her Big Dream Boulevard album.
