Antoine Dufour's interview for the Don Ross Guitar Academy

In October 2021, I conducted an online interview with the great Quebecois guitarist Antoine Dufour as my monthly guest interview feature for the Don Ross Guitar Academy. Here’s an edited version of the chat we had.
The Don Ross Guitar Academy is my online teaching site. Right now we have 40 beginner-level lessons and another 40 intermediate-level lessons. You can start at the very beginning if you like, plus learn about altered and open tunings, slide guitar, reading tablature, and start learning some of my more popular tunes. I was a young student getting in to music during the late 2000s when these guys (and others like Andy Mckee) were starting to go viral on the internet, and they ended up being some of the biggest inspirations and influences for my own musical path. Seeing this interview, they also seem like super chill guys, I'd love to have a beer/coffee with them and jam!

I love Antoine. I remember myself 15 years ago putting his Candyrat videos on KZbin while doing my highschool math homework. A big inspiration for playing guitar, love his pieces and it's lovely to see him speaks. Thanks Don!

I booked Don for that festival date way back in the day and Don's first impression of Antoine seemed a bit awe struck.. as if rounding the cusp of a realization.. namely that following behind him were a new generation of players who had much wider access to some of both the same influences as well as plenty of room in there satchels for yet even more.. The kids in town were beginning to emerge..
