I’m 62 now and heard this song for the first time in 85, I rushed home and told my soon to be wife (86) this is our song! I’m ready to bite the bullet! We’ve been together ever since!

I'm 55 and I've always heard there's no such thing as FOREVER but I believe there's is such a thing and 80s music is the very heart of it. REO still amazing as ever. I'm so thankful I grew up in the time I did.

He's 68 years old! Let see how good we all sound and look at 68. Props to him for getting to do what he loves, for all these years.

Again, irrelevant. His look is contrived - contrived WEIRD old lady hair, contrived, weird old lady glasses, etc. etc. 68 is NOT old. A lot of us are in that age range dearie - and we sure don't look like the opposite sex in an Old Peoples Home. 68 isn't even old. Why create this bizarre look? Try to stay on topic.

my dad played drums on the road with them for a few years in the 80's. Graham Lear. I remember riding on a tour bus with the band as a toddler. The guys were amazingly kind and fun to be around. Kevin Cronin is one of the all time greatest song writers, and that gave REO speedwagon a much bigger effect than many other big "rock bands" of the era. They had style, but REO had substance. Real song-writing chops that went far beyond anthems and guitar solos.

Brian Lear how cool. If you don’t mind me asking why wasn’t your Dad the permanent replacement for Alan? And I will agree REO has some great music and its a shane they weren’t more popular.

J D Well, they did have the number one album of 1981 and 2 number one hits and still draw decent audiences so they can't complain :-) Bryan Hitt became their permanent drummer. Graham Lear was their drummer between Alan and Bryan.

All the negative comments about how the singer looks have to be clueless millennials who only take things at face value. What is someone wearing, what brand shoes you have etc. Basically superficial and brainless idiots who don’t realise that this is an all time classic rock ballad and is sung in an exceptionally difficult key which Kevin could sing back in his heyday. The guy is pushing 70 and singing this great song which he penned down on his own before getting the band to finish arranging. Millions of babies must have been made with this song playing in the background and here they are on their smartphones criticising meaningless things like how he looks and how a duet shouldn’t be sung by father and daughter. That’s dumb cos it’s the music. Geez what did they start putting in formula in the 90s lol. Thing is great song performed by the original band in the original key (no cheating or using voice digitisers as the younger gen is so used to using) and yes his daughter is hot. So why all the negative comments? Try singing when’re his age or writing a good song like that.also in the 80s it was the music that meant something not the image.

Perhaps we could get Kevin to come as well and perhaps some other members Doughety, etc. and just do some acoustics. lets do it in let's say st. louis or chicago area..... alright, someone organize this damn party. time for me to fly was my high school senior song damn it, this all needs to be celebrated and remembered. First formed in the basement of Illinois Street Residence Hall at the University of Illinois, for me REO is one-third of the Holy Trinity of 80’s Rock, along with Journey and Styx. High Infidelity was my first CD way back then and for several days that was literally the only music I could play on my new stereo - and it was perfect. Every time I hear them it takes me back to some amazing times with great friends in college, some of whom are no longer with us. And all I can do is smile.

The band had several hits on the Billboard Hot 100 throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including two chart-toppers written by Cronin: "Keep on Loving You" (1980) and "Can't Fight This Feeling" (1984). - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Cronin

Dude, I could not disagree more from the statement "we are living proof that Rock n roll will keep you young forever". We die as any other person and on the account of Rock n Roll the victims of ODs, hearing losses, drug addiction, undesired pregnancy, unrecognized patternities, abandonment, abuse, greedy, broken friendships and more are countless. However, there is no way to deny the beauty of "I can't fight this feelings". Who could? There is no other song that expresses so well the struggles of a male heart in love. It is just incredible. It starts as a friendship, grows to a feeling that questions yourself, takes you through doubts and fear to the feeling of security and strength take invades our souls when we are really in love. It is just a complete poetical banquet. I would put as many thumbs up as I could!!! Love it!
