Both Players will meet again in the Finals of the German Table Tennis League. Källberg is competing for Düsseldorf, and Franziska for Saarbrücken. I am looking forward for a georgeous Playoff-Final in Germany

So finals are shown before semi-finals? And why are half the points missing again? It's constantly jumping one or two points ahead

Is that Tiago Apolonia coaching for Patrick?

Yeah, I was actually quite surprised. Källberg was coached by Mattias Falck in that match. Quite an unusual case that both players get coached by other players. I like it though. Especially Mattias Falck seemed to be really into it & doing a great Job.

European games are being played at this moment and it appeared coaches and top players of European countries are there (Truls and K Karlsson for Sweden, Ovtcharov and Dang for Germany, Lebrun bros for France) explaining why on this event Europeans players often have other players as coaches.

Franz seemed to lack a little bit of confidence that day. Especially the loss of the first set had an ongoing impact throughout the whole match.

Of course it did, the first game was Franziska's to win and Kallberg had 2 net balls changing the tide completely. In every match I see something like this the other one loses the games after that. It's human, one up, one down

What is wrong with WTT? Why do they schedule a major tournament just when European Games take place? I'm wondering why nobody is annoyed by this, especially since it's two european Players in the Tunis final....

Basically, Franziska is too slow to deal with Kallberg. Otherwise, Franziska has been super reliable, but he is not quite ready, so he misses.

Considering Franziskas missing speed he is the only player who was able to win a match against all chinese top players. Often he is able to conceal his missing Speed. This time Källberg deserved and took the victory of the game

It is rather balanced match. But Franziska lost, because it is very clearly in match in slow motion review that Franziska does bad high pose and bad footwork : he makes stokes in his high pose, and his footwork is not good to keep him stand steady in moment of making strokes. Low pose in table tennis means that elbow of playing hand must not be higher than the net. Look at Franziska and Kallberg in slow motion review : Franziska always makes stroke in his high pose, thus it is visually clearly in slow motion that HE ALWAYS LOSES TEMP IN ANY STROKES IN RALLIES, BECAUSE HE LOSES SOME MOMENT TO MOVE HIS HAND DOWNWARD TO BEGIN MAKE STROKES. Look at Kallberg, he loses minimal less time to move his hand downward to begin make strokes, because he always stays in low pose with elbow of his playing hand always being equal high to the net. Before players make strokes in rallies, they must move their hands downward first, then quickly move their hand upward to catch hit balls. Difficult balls are too low as the net. Thus, if elbow of playing hand is much higher than the net, then players lose time to move their hand downward to prepair to move hand upwards to catch the balls. Thus players have less time to move their hand upward to coordinatedly catch ball. It leads to low accuracy ! Franziska often falls in this error. Maybe, because Franziska is tall, and he is lazy to stay constantly in low pose. It is also visually clearly that Kallbert make strokes when he stands steady, while Franziska makes strokes when he waves

So, basically, what you are explaining is why Anton recovers faster than Franziska? Am I getting this right? Or do you talk more about the position of the racket? Or both? Please explain.

@@drumkick2315 I say that players must move and settle them to be in optimal pose before they hit ball. So what is optimal pose of players in moment before they hit the ball ? 1/ The low pose is optimal ! It means that in order to prepare to catch next balls, players must put elbow of their playing hand to be equal or lower than the net. It is optimal pose with elbow being lower or equal to the net, because when ball fly to player side in fast rallies, player will move their hand downward firstly, then coordinatedly move their hand with racket upward and forward to catch ball, thus low pose allows player lose less time to move their hand downward firstly, thus player have more time to coordinatedly move his hand with racket upward forward to catch ball. Thanks to have more time to adjustedly coordinatedly move his hand upward forward to catch ball, so player have more accuracy and can make more topspin and strong strokes. In this match, look at Kallberg : he always stays in low pose with elbow of his playing hand being equal the net. Thus when ball flies to his side, he practically moves his hand racket downward firstly with nearly no losing time, thus he has more time to adjust and coordinatedly move his hand racket up upward forward to catch to hit ball. While Franziska loses more time to move his hand racket downward firstly, because he is always stay in high pose. Do you note that Franziska always must move his hand downward with more distance firstly , because he always stays in high pose. Thus when Franziska moves his hand racket upward forward to catch to hit ball, he has less time to adjust and coordinate. It reduces accuracy. 2/ Steady position : low pose gives players more time to adjust and catch balls, as described above. Steady position at the moment of hitting ball also allows players make strokes more accurately too. You can not make accurate strokes when you can not stay steady. In order to stay steady, it requires footwork and movement. Franziska oftens makes strokes when he waves. It is error !

Good analysis. I think that's also why Patrick sometimes tries to counteract by closing the racket angle too much. You can see some of the strokes he missed, his angle is very closed to compensate for his upright posture.

I watched it again. You are completely right. Franz stands too high. Or Anton manages to stay low. He reacts faster. That made a difference. Franz is a very tall guy. That is a disadvantage, I guess. He has to work more than other players.
