Like the first light of dawn, this music opens your eyes to new promises and to all the wonders of nature. Evocative of powers beyond observation, these pieces pull the strings of the heart, attract nostalgia and awaken the loves, the skinned lives and torpor of tormented watchmen 🤠

This is a really good interpretation.Just wish the software created for bringing orchestration to life, would sound exactly like a real orchestra. And any time I hear a new discovery like this, I scratch my head wondering why these gems haven't been brought to light sooner.

Thank you for your compliment, which makes me very happy. I agree with you, it is a great pity that we unfortunately do not have more of Teyber's music. One of the main reasons is that his entire estate went to the archives of the Vienna Musikverein. And there, under the direction of Prof. Otto Biba, there is little interest in research and publication. According to music encyclopedias, Teyber is said to have composed 36 symphonies, for example. The Musikverein archives do not have a publicly accessible catalogue for manuscripts, and the archive does not work with music research bodies (e.g. RISM). Copies from there are very expensive and I don't really know what they have. And for publication, they want very high fees, which then make any project economically pointless. The symphony in question comes from the Thuringian State Archives.

@@musikedition-de I'm surprised at the backward thinking of Prof. Biba. As an academic, I'd assume (sorry Felix Unger) he'd want the riches of the Musikverein Archives shared with the world in this era of IT. I've been told many times that the Viennese are socially conservative but this is beyond that: Prof. Biba is a Luddite.
