Just watched the Mask of Zorro again after many many years and at first I thought “why haven’t they made more films of Zorro?”. But after watching the whole thing and the enthusiasm of my childhood had awakened again I realised it’s because the old ones are just perfection, especially the first one. @@cassiusclayreels Honestly i wouldnt call Tom a professional stuntman or even an actor who can perform top tier stunts by himself. He is good actor? Yes. He is athletic? Yes. He is stuntman? No. In Uncharted movie (which is not even an ok Uncharted adaptation. Just a fine adventure film) You dont need to be a specialist to see that 50% or even more stunt stuff Tom's character performed on screen was done by pro stuntman and in some shots it was just a cgi model. In that chase near waterfall you can see that in most of the shots you cant see Tom's face at all, not to mention that the body shape of that stuntman is a bit more athletic. As for spider man films, it is probably 10% Tom, 30% stuntman and 60% cgi model. Tom aside, i was actually disappointed when i found out that it wasnt Ana de Aramas who did all (or should i say most of) the stunts in cuba sequence in that terrible bond film. It was performed by professional stunt double Nikita Mitchell, and the face of Ana de Armas was just digitally painted over.

I feel the next story should be that hes trained his son to take up the mantle from him by the time the new movie starts and that flashbacks are shown periodically to show his training and that maybe joaquin tries to find a cure for his now bedridden sick father? In Europe we don't have a "Latin Community", we are all European hence why he doesn't see a difference between himself and Tom Holland! The differences us Europeans fixate on are cultural and Lingusitic difference but we racially are all European. Mask of Zorro was a masterpiece in casting. Banderas, Hopkins, and Katherine Zeta Jones. They all had the most expressive eyes. And when you're making a movie about a mask, eyes are very important.

This honestly just brought a tear to my eye because The Mask of Zorro is one of my all time favorite movies; it was the first dvd I ever bought and I watched it over and over and never got tired of it. But now knowing that Antonio had a stroke before, I can hear in his voice the age but also wisdom in it, so it does make me happy to hear that he still wants to be a part of the Zorro legacy thus giving me hope that it happens. Just bittersweet he won’t be able to bring that same energy as before.

People tend to overthink how Spanish or Latino people 'look.' I've heard stories of Latina actresses who had to dye their blonde hair brown because they didn't 'look right' So honestly, the fact that he's a white kid isn't an issue. There are very pale spaniards. That said, while I agree with him that he's fun and energetic, he's not the guy I'd pick for Zorro cause even now he's baby-faced and I don't imagine Zorro THAT young. Even in Mask of Zorro, Banderas didn't feel like a teenager. He was an adult man and I think Zorro should have that gravitas. Also, for what it's worth, I'd kill for a new Zorro movie. I said for years they should have done one with Pedro Pascal, but he's really now old enough that he wouldn't work for a new Zorro either. I love Zorro though.

In Hollywood - Los Angeles - there are TONS of Hispanic actors of all colors that could play el Zorro, you almost have go out of your way to AVOID picking a Hispanic in Los Angeles/Hollywood. Furthermore, el Zorro is based on Joaquin Murrieta. A non-white Mexican. That's why Antonio's character was Joaquin's brother...the movie paid tribute to the original and real Joaquin Murrieta/ "Zorro".
