Antonio Puig "Quorum Silver" EDT (2005)

Bought this as a gift for my dad's 60th birthday. While my dad doesn't really like it, I love it so much. The set with an after shave costs $30 and it smells at least 3 times the price. Has that old school like vibe to it but also smells modern. When others describe it as a "cedar bomb" they are completely right. It usually lasts 6 hours for me, and I don't mind since for a cheap frag, that is long enough. Such an underrated gem, and I am surprised not many people have reviewed it. There are of course ginger and similar spicy notes at the begining, with a hint of lavender in the background, but it becomes a cedar heavy fragrance that I personally adore. This smells really masculine to me, as I usually prefer those types of fragrances. Such a classy, gentlemanly, clean and everyday scent, I dare to say signature scent worthy Haven't tried the original one, but man this is such a bang for your buck. I even spray it in my room before going to sleep, the scent somehow calms me down😂

Many of the the best fragrances out there are affordably priced. These are the true gems.

Good review. I already had a 100ml bottle which was 90% full but came across the $30 deal for the EDT and aftershave a few months back and got in on it. I'm sure I'll be good for a few more years with this one. Silver is a more modern classic than the original reformulated Quorum which smells more dated and is a darker, soapy, leather and woody scent, which unfortunately doesn't perform as well from my experience.

I like this fragrance. I don't wear it often but when I do I'm ALWAYS impressed. This is a really nice woody masculine fragrance that truly is a beast. I'll do 4 or 5 shots and I can smell this stuff projecting off my skin a good 3 to 4 hours (a lot of cheapies are gone by that point) and can still smell it on my skin 12 hours later (on top of moisturizer). GREAT value for the money.

Good description of this fragrance. It is undoubtedly one of the best cheapies out there. In my experience it has drawn far more compliments than frags that costs 7 or 8 times more. I wear this as well as Aqua but the original is not for me.

Smells kind of like YSL L'Homme to me but way more beast mode. Didnt like it at first but grew on me. Huge fan of original Quorum since the 80s, Still kicks ass

Hi Jerrid. Have to be honest, Quorum Silver didn't do it for me. Some reviews call it a modern masterpiece, and others quite the opposite. I'm in the latter's camp. I got the same set for $20 and wore it for a while. I feel it's too much cedar, a cedar bomb. Heavy cedar, but not a classy, rich cedar. More of a "hamster cage" cedar. I sold the set for the same price, here in Japan where it's rare. I like original Quorom because it's a wearable old school classic. The Aqua version is similar to Polo Sport.

I get mild cedar, but not too much. Many call this a cedar bomb, but this may be due to a person's hypersensitivity to cedar. Personally, if a fragrance has ambroxan or neroli I can pick it up a mile a way and it makes me sick. It's funny that I have been around bakers for my whole life and whenever I smell one of these super expensive niche gourmand fragrances I associate them with cheap sugary syrups used in baking pastries. Also with so called cedar bombs, if you apply it, let it dry for 15 minutes then take a cool shower, no soap, you will get a much smoother smell after the shower. The edge will be taken off and you will be left with a more pleasant smell. This is a trick I learned from a playboy who would wear the powerhouse scents of the 80s and did not want it too strong for his date. He called it, "Muting The Fragrance." Learning application techniques is key. One must "figure out" how to wear some fragrances through experimentation.
