Roberto Bertero at the organ of Turin’s Santuario della Consolata (Church of the Virgin of the Consolation).
This video is featuring a recording that I’ve made during the period of Lent ’24, not yet posted here on the channel just for scheduling reasons.
It is the Symphony “Al Santo Sepolcro” (to the Holy Sepulchre) composed by Antonio Vivaldi and transcribed for organ by talented colleague and friend Marco Limone (link to his KZbin channel @marcolimone).
Antonio Vivaldi perfectly represented the spirit of eighteenth-century Venetian musical tradition in all compositional genres, from Sonatas to Symphonies, from Concertos to theatrical works, from profane Cantatas to sacred vocal works.
According to a usual tradition of the time, Vivaldi composed music on the occasion of many feasts in the liturgical calendar. The Symphony "Al Santo Sepolcro" can be placed in this context, presumably written for the Chapel of the Pietà.
In this composition Vivaldi uses a harmonic-contrapuntal technique which determines encounters of a certain harshness for the time, symbolically aimed at increasing the expressive pathos of a profound meditation on the Passion of Christ.
Welcome to this KZbin channel aimed at providing some quality online documentation concerning the "Camillo Guglielmo Bianchi" organ located in the Consolata Sanctuary, Turin (Italy).
Audio or audio-video file will be regularly uploaded, all recorded LIVE.
The sound will be captured with Zoom H5 audio recorder (96kHz / 24bit), while footage will be filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
The intent is to create a database of the musical literature performed by me, titular organist in this prestigious sanctuary, right during the religious services along the Liturgical Year or during the organ auditions, between one Mass and another.
