I must say that i have to disagree, the idea that the 2 things (raiding mythic and have fun as a guild) have to exclude eachother, is nonsense. Im a cutting edge raider as well, and if it werent for the fun we had with eachother in my guild, we would not get very far. Sure, there is slightly less room for error but we understand that and all live up to the expectations we have to one another - with jokes and everything

Back in TBC and early Wrath, I was in a semi-competitive progression raid guild. We got realm 2nd or 3rd on most kill, and we still had fun. However, we DID have to get more serious during the actual boss fights. We had fun, but not as much as these guys. But still, these videos bring back some very fond memories of my time with The Magic Kingdom of Perenolde (it was founded by a bunch of Disney employees, hence the name). In Mists I played with another guild which was serious about progressions, and we did mythic. That was a lot less fun, but mostly because the RL was a dick. We still could have had some fun, without an asshole in charge.

You need to make friends ingame. Maybe get in Vent or Discord with them. Goofing off or pushing your limits with one or two close friends is incredibly fun in WoW, especially with voice chat. There are still good people out there, you just need to find them and once you find them, keep in touch with them and keep making time for them.

But I became better at the game then he was, making it into a moderate mythic guild and downing a few bosses before I quit.
