Yeah I never would've imagined just how much that part can expand... like comparing 3:29 to 4:15 .. The difference is huge. Also cool to see how it's sectioned so it kinda folds in itself like one of those collapsable cups when empty and enlarges.

It'd be cool to see if any ants drink from both puddles and mix colours, or even just to see a bunch of rainbow ants running around. maybe do cyan, yellow, and magenta for more vibrant colours if they do end up mixing.

it's a process called "trophallaxis" that ants known as "repletes" feed other workers in the colony, and the red liquid candy in their abdomen is actually stored in a social stomach, that they can get it out of their mouth to feed others again, they also feed their young larvaes using that

That's a Scout Ant. It's an ant that finds a good source of food and makes a scent trail from it to its colony when it does so it can bring the colony to collect on it.
