I love it when people actually move a colony into a nest they receive! It makes the video 1000x better!

Do you think these would be big enough to house Myrmecia ?
@antshq68803 жыл бұрын
Hi there Nathan! Ants HQ here, great question. This nest would house smaller species of Myrmecia such as Myrmecia nigrocincta quite comfortably. However, larger Myrmecia may find it to be a little bit of a squeeze, especially due to the actual structure of the galleries themselves. This being said, smaller colonies should be be fine. Have a lovely Sunday.

I rather make the lighting system that have lamps separated from inner ants chamber by glass and accessable from behind. When we must change the lamp it easier. You don't want open the front glass when there is a lamp that die.

Yup and they contain the same kind of flaws. For starters: -The cable connection doesn't seem that good(even if it's "supposed" to be wobbly). Looks to me like it'll stop working after a few times attaching and detaching the cable if you're not really careful. -The switches on the side actually click very strongly when pressed, so that'll definitely cause a panic. Yes I know the lights will cause a panic too the first times you use them, but over time colonies do become adjusted to the facts that sometimes they're suddenly exposed to light if it happens frequently enough. However the combination of light together with the physical disturbance each time a switch is pressed is something they'll not get used too and will be detrimental to sensitive species(like Messor, Formica, most Camponotus sp.) -The hydration isn't ideal with it being solely reliant on one watertower for that large area(one of the reasons most formicariums this size that rely on watertowers will have 2 or at least have additional accessories/atachments to help with the humidity). This means moisture loving species will struggle once they start getting larger amounts of brood. It's one of those producs that looks great on first glance(especially to newcomers) but in reality isn't that great, especially when you take the price into account.

Hi there Chris, we understand where you may be coming from. Howeger, this has been designed to offer slightly more flexibility. This being said, should there ever be a problem with flickering lights or similar issues, we're always at hand and happy to help to resolve any potential problems. With kind regards, The team at Ants HQ

These are stupidly expensive and exactly the same as the ones on AliExpress 🤔
@antshq68803 жыл бұрын
Hey HappyAnt UK, Ants HQ here! Hope you're having a good Sunday. I'm sorry to hear that these nests seem expensive, we understand that these may not be the cheapest around. However, when you factor in elements such as; quality control, lighting elements, modification to existing models, import tax, sales tax, ability to get your Myrmeco I Ant Nest to you the very next day and the fact that we're always available to discuss any problems and offer a reliable customer service for our Ants HQ colony, we think we offer pretty good value for money. The nests seen on Alibaba or AliExpress are great and some are cheaper, but they're not the same models. In addition to this, many of the prices are for bulk quantities of 50/100 units, not to mention shipping and import tax aren't included. Many times, these nests which are different, come upto the same price or more to what we offer. Hopefully, we've been able to give you a slightly different perspective and please rest assured, we're always open to constructive criticism as this is the only way something can be improved. Wishing you a lovely Sunday. With kind regards, The team at Ants HQ
@happyantuk19953 жыл бұрын
@@antshq6880 fair play on responding and explaining. And hope you have a good Sunday too. I can get something very similar then maybe not an exact replica and it would cost roughly £15 to £20 only thing is it could take a few weeks to arrive. But then I’ve not inspected the quality of either nest so this isn’t a definite opinion on either nest.

Not sure why AntsHQ resells nests from China as their own, but I guess thats their choice
