Here is my complete tutorial on "how to" learn, practice, and play the Nocturne Op.9 No.2 in E-flat major by Frédéric Chopin.
In this video, I focus on each section with hands-separate and both hands, explaining the different articulations in the left hand, the phrasing of the right hand's melody, timing, pedaling, the musical message, and more.
This video was requested by many viewers of Antune, and I hope it helps you enjoy playing this Nocturne with more comfort, knowledge, and inspiration.
Well, if it does, please let me know in the comments!
Good luck!

it's absolutely insane that this is free content. This is my favorite piece that I can play and you've made me see even more beauty in it and helped me improve it. Don't be disappointed if your channel is not as popular as others, you have much more quality advice but because it's more advanced there's a smaller viewer base for you.

I LOVE IT! It's like the elegance of a pianist by day and serial killer by night (the perfectionist is only perfect because of his imperfections; for there to be one extreme it must be met by an opposing extreme of the same magnitude)... all we need is some Bruce Willis, a few one-liners, cigarette smoking and....BOOM! A box office HIT!!!!

Your tutorials are hands down the best and most effective on YT Not just for learning the particular piece, but also for building skills. I learned about "voicing" for example in your Chopin's E minor Prelude and it has since added so much to the color and musicality of my playing across pieces Also, it would be so amazing if you can cover Ravel's pavane pour une infante too! Thanks :)

Thank you for the generous comment! I am pleased to hear you can implement the techniques I explain in different pieces. That’s the goal for sure! I wish I could tell you when I can make a video on Ravel’s Pavane. However, it takes weeks to make a video as I am doing it all by myself, next to my concerts, lessons, and daily life :) What I can tell, though, is that it will be the first video of Ravel on my channel as it is a very special piece for me!

Hey Antune! Thank you for the amazing tutorial, I started learning this piece because of you, and I'm finishing it soon! 😊 I also found an error in your sheet music: at bar 16 on the second beat the notes in the left hand aren't where they should be compared to the right hand (but they are notated correctly in the video) Super great (and free!) sheet music though, so I can't complain😅

Hey so I have been working on Scarlatti’s sonata in b minor k 87 and just need some advice on one technique that I assume is common in Scarlatti. It’s the 6th intervals in the right hand. It’s hard to have them be fluid and connected, even with peddle. Do you have any suggestions on how to peddle the measures with consecutive 6th intervals? It’s eighth notes in 3/4, so maybe every quarter note?
@Antune
@Antune 2 жыл бұрын
I am afraid I cannot answer this question with a comment because it is a complex issue. Hopefully, I’ll make a video on K.87 in a few months! I can say, though, to focus primarily on connecting the upper notes of the 6ths because it is more essential to play legato in the melodic layer. Good luck!

Hii, thanks for the lesson, I'd like to know what tempo should I set my metronome, it says 132 the quaver note does it mean I should set my metronome at 66 for a black note?
@Antune
@Antune Жыл бұрын
Hey there, you are welcome! I am afraid I am not sure what you mean by black note. But I can say that 66 bpm isn't the best choice as that's equal to a quarter note. 44 bpm would equal a dotted quarter note, but it's too slow. So I recommend you play at 132 bpm for the eighth note, as suggested. Good luck!

Constructive criticism, try to hide better your nervous and heavy breathing, either with editing or fixing it. At the start of a sentence you take a quick breath through the mouth which sounds terrible and distracts the listener.
