Aint it surprising how much of an adult themed storyline this movie is? A general who wants a new reborn colony of "pure" ants and to do that, he has to get rid of the queen, and rid the royal forces loyal to her by starting a war which decimates both sides.

actually termites do regulary defend their mounds from ants. it mostly depends on the species of ants and termites. but usually they are the same size but some termites do really shoot acid from their forhead.

I'd say since termites cannot squirt acid, they'd probably be based off nasute soldiers, a type of soldier that squirts chemicals from a snout on its head, except there are some differences of those and these ones when it comes to their appearances.

1:04 and 2:44 were my favorite scenes, with the flying ants! It really, really reminded me of a moment at Boy Scout camp that we had. Other scouts crushed a giant 2 or 3 foot high anthill multiple times, that evening, we got attacked by swarms of very large flying ants. We were by the fire and every few seconds, one of the scouts would shout in pain and pull a giant flying and off his arm or leg XD We lost count of how many flying ants attacked us that evening.

Ant speicies usually have specialized raiders that are purely bred for attacking and defending. These particular ants are usually only slightly smaller than a termite and have an extremely powerful venom that will make short work of the termite. Whether they win or not is situational.
