i've loved watching their interviews together, and it's amazing to see how in awe they are of each other, of talent and general character. and i loved anushka's first answer. really great explanation as to why "terrible" films do well (judwaa 2, race 3, etc.). she's had a lot of smart things to say in all of her interviews recently. love their friendship, already love their jodi, cannot wait for more of them (also varun interrupting because he had to pee, wow i love him)

Excellent & well-thought out answers by Anushka.However,Varun seems to be trying too hard.He is definitely sincere towards his craft,but he needs good people around him.People who can criticise the so-called nuances he is playing,or just criticise him at places.Far too often,'successful' actors get surrounded by sycophants who subdue their growth. I don't particularly agree with Anushka when she says only escapist cinema will work for the masses. It is a big assumption to the point of judging the intelligence of the audience. I'm sure most of us want to experience other emotions as well, emotions other than Love (Overtly used in Hindi cinema), having said that I agree that the audience needs to be educated for that kind of cinema and that is the responsibility of Industy's stalwarts to make sure the Industry and business is going in the right direction sadly all they care about is money and not growth of the eco-system.

Bro she's not judging the Indian audience, she's just talking about basic things and feelings! We've a dark background, our ancestors ve suffered a lot and we still have a large number of rural area where people don't understand the creative and fast movies. It will take time to change our mindset and to understand these movies in a more finer way, we should accept it and respect it! Indian cinema is however improvising their trends!

I agree with you and that is why I said it is the responsibility of Industry's stalwarts to educate our masses for that kind of cinema, sadly no-one does it. The good thing is people who have access to platforms like Netflix have an improved sense of cinema but the story for our mass is still the same and I believe if you are in a position of influence, you should use it to take the business in the right direction, you cannot always shy away by saying they want such kind of cinema so we shall give them that, truth is they just want to make money but there is hope thanks to people like Anurag Kashpyap and a few others like Pankaj Tripathi , Anand Gandhi.
