Anvil F8C Lightning after 2 months of Ownership + Weapon Loadouts

So i had Anvil F8C Lightning for over 2 months now. This is amazing ship. At first I thought it is overpowered but I was wrong. It is powerful but also very nicely balanced. Even if you have 8 guns they are small in size and when armor comes in game they will not be so powerful. Ship has some more drawbacks that we will discus in video. Also as a + or bonus I will use 4 of my favorite weapons loadouts.

@@infinitespace239 I've been able to disable NPC and player sub caps, handy tip if you didn't know, distortions cause like a 30m splash damage effect. Which is why if you are close to something you are shooting you can hit your own shield. So, once their shield facing are down on one side, on those larger ships, if you know roughly where the components are supposed to be located you can do a manual aim and shut them down pretty quick. And cooler locking a ship is more dangerous than just EM locking it. The ship turns itself off for protection, and will stay turned off for around 10 minutes if it's a larger ship. There was a player in a sentinel trying to EMP others last night, and I had him disabled in about 20 second with just half distortions. I felt very justified. And then I just left him on the moon haha, "think about this, next time to try to EMP others" was all I said haha

Yep. That's my loadout too. I do quite a bit of PvP bounties so repeaters make more sense than cannons, and I have died to heavy-distortion loadouts

You do a good job in the feel of your videos. As you already know, server de-sync can sometimes provide AI ships with "plot armor" where they stop taking damage for a period of time. I feel it also sometimes works in your favor, where the projectile is maybe getting counted more than once per hit, resulting in very quick kills against hulls where the math doesn't add up if you compare damage to health stats, though this is just an assumption on my part. Keep up the combat practice and I think your channel can go far, a lot of players just want to see someone give quick honest loadout tests.

I just got my F8C and the stock guns are just amazing, as you showed in the first part they are devastating. But you will run out of ammo, just have to leave and rearm.

Great Vid! I think the ships looks awesome. Wondering how it would do with 2 of the distortion weapons, and the remaining weaps the FL cannons. I would love to fly it beyond the 24 hour rental, as I did get a golden ticket. However, I have decided to pass on the purchase. The price is to high, and like you indicate in your video, though totally fun, you can also get the same level of fun with other ships. It is true that I won't have this unique ship, unless I one day complete S42, but I am ok with that! I'll just watch more great vids from you!😁

Yeah, nice decision you will not miss too much. As said Ares is even better and it is in the game. If you have some ships pledged that you don't drive or gear laying around consider melting it and get the ship.That is what i did lol. Also join my discord you can take it from me for spin when ever I don't use it. I would pass on suckerpunch canons lower dps. Only if you want to board npcs ships. Check my previous video.

Man, I swear... 3 hours later is about right! I fought an 890 last night that must have taken a solid 10 minutes to kill in my F8C with Attritions. There's usually never time to really tire from a fight but that 890 had shields of kryptonite!

I fly with 2x DR Model-XJ3 Repeaters and 6x NDB-28 Repeaters. The size 3 Distortions make a ton of difference.

You're better off using the size 2 distortions and size 3 laser repeaters. The difference in damage between a size 2 and size 3 distortion is only like 8 additional damage IIRC. Check Erkul to see.

you redded up the center of that HH quick. Just think if you took that loadout as part of a wing or duo of pilots. The punch on those ballistics would finish that quick. :D

I think there must be some kind of ballistic damage bugs at the moment. I see and experience both extremes, either not even being able to kill a single ship with an entire magazine, or killing one in seconds. Or maybe you have to get lucky and keep hitting in the exact same spot?

I think it is nerfed or bug because with dedbolts you can waste really fast any ship.

yeh theres a ton of bugs that they never seem to fix, like the invisible shots being fired from hammerheads or 890s. no shots fired, but youll see your shields drop to 0 and lose weapons. repeater ballistics are useless until s5. s4 is usable....but s5 is realistically where it needs to be for ammo...so if they just RE-ADD the 0, then half the guns will stop being paperweights....cig hates us.

Have only tried an all-Attrition Repeater load out, I love it but it's not for everyone (I also switched to Rattler 2s for missiles,) this was my first loadout instead of default, there is still desync and the bloody pip likes to go off target from time to time so Ballistic weapons though good run out too soon for my playstyle.

Yeah, sadly I saw in master mode ballistic has much more ammo. Hopefully in 3.23 we get that too

my f8c has a bug, i can only fit it with 7 weapons, "weapon slot 2" is greyed out. Anyone know whatsup with that?

Yes, you have to take off size 3 weapon from the top of the ship and put turret and then 2 size 2 weapons.

Depends, if you want currently unique ship, also amazing and beautiful and you are not afraid to invest YES. But be aware it is not perfect. My advice melt something you don t use and try it. You wont regret.

Ballistics nerfed in the last patches ? haven't seen any differences ? I fact I got deactivated by a Saber in my Corsair without having shield lower than 80% and no redzone at all, he was just spraying all over my Corsair, front back middle and a lot in the air and my ship just turned off x) was pretty surprised by this murderhobbo too

If I'm going PvE, then it's laser cannon. If I'm going PvP, then laser repeater. Especially with server desync, you can't rely on on having enough rounds with ballistics.

Someone here gave great suggestions, 4 deadbolts and 4 laser canons. That is good security for desync.

Well you can buy it in game just not until Squadron 42 is released. The dev's have said it will unlock in game once you clear SQ42. That's a ways off though and it's an amazing heavy fighter to have in the mean time.

Best is 4 FL 22 and for deadbolts, 2 size 2 and 2 size 3 but deadbolts on wings .

Insane price for a fighter, reclaimer is not much more and then you can buy many many ships in game easy.

@@infinitespace239 Sure. But I think the F8C isn't good for ships with s3 shield, at least not solo. Maybe in atmo where those big ones have trouble turning you'll have a better advantage but in space only with a full ballistic cannon load-out and you're extremely skilled and do proper sub targeting. I think it's more of a medium fighter than a heavy one.

May I offer a piece of video editing criticism? You made the music rather loud, yet speak/record rather quietly, making you a bit difficult to understand. I believe either raising your own volume, speaking with more intensity or just lowering the volume of the music a bit would help greatly with the quality of your audio.

I hate how much of a pup-stomper this ship is. The lower the skill of the pilot and their opponent, the stronger this ship, because it's superior at face-tanking (as shown in the video) but not at maneuverability, which is what skilled pilots want instead. This puts it square into the crosshairs of complaints by all the bad pilots (at least the ones who don't own the ship) and potentially into the crosshairs for undeserved nerfs which will most likely make it more balanced among bad pilots but useless among skilled pilots.

I don't think so, for me it is just another ship to have fun. For me my favorite part is the look, really nice but it is not so op. As said in the video , Inferno is much better and in PVP Anvil Arrow will wipe the floor with you in F8C.
