But she does seem a bit like a control freak because she is pressuring Riley too much. Like the time Riley did not want to sneak into the coach’s office because she was nearly developing self doubt. Plus, Riley can’t be herself without other emotions to feel. Anxiety can’t be the only one to be in charge because if that happens, Riley wouldve been diagnosed with anxiety disorder or simply going through too much anxiety. Without Joy, Riley can’t feel the urge of being happy with herself. Without Sadness, Riley can’t feel the urge to cry to let her pain out. She would feel bottled up. Without Fear, she can’t feel her defense mechanism to avoid hazards. Without Anger, she can’t feel angry enough at anyone making fun of her. Without Disgust, Riley will endanger herself from eating something that’s unsafe or something contagious.

I guess its a more fitting character development. Joy in the first movie is much more of a control freak and very restricting of poor Sadness, but now she's more caring towards the other emotions which shows Joy and in an extent Riley's maturity towards her emotions.

No, it's not. It's just a movie. All decisions is YOURS and YOURS alone. There are no little people in your brain and you can't say "it's not my fault, it's just my emotions". Riley knew that betraying her friends is a bad moral decision but she was willing to do so anyway which is egoistic and she knows that, that's why she later apologised. Please, don't get wrong ideas. People should be responsible for their actions and decisions
