Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about! Always dreamed of the day someone would do a phonk remix of It Means Everything, and it had to be the very person who never fails to bring us bangers! I like the usage of the Whitespace motif here. It sells to me the feeling that a "Whitespace" isn't something that only existed in Sunny's mind, Whitespace is in everyone. A place where you close yourself from reality, a place where your demons disappear, at least for a while. Everyone has a Whitespace, in one way or another. That's why you would hear it's motif across inumerous songs. I also love how this remix sounds in general. It doesn't sound "angry" specifically, like "YOU WERE WRONG." It sounds like despair, a rollercoaster of feelings that isn't comprehensive. A breakdown. _Aubrey's_ breakdown. You managed to save this feeling from the og song in your remix, that's some skill! Banger as always! Also, damn these screams at the drops... Chills.

To me it felt more like Sunny's version of Aubrey, one that was "fake" yet based on his memories, is being challenged, crushed down by Aubrey's current self. As if he can't handle how much she changed, how out of character she seems to be. He made up perfect versions of his friends and lived, loved, (laughed, ik I'm funny) them for years. The whiplash of actually meeting her and how she seems to breakdown in front of him is too much. He can't fuse both versions, they're too different. She's shattering his worldview and his memories. He won't be able to just see her as who she was as a child when he thinks of her. The inclusion of the motif adds to the dichotomy between Aubrey in Real Life and Aubrey in Whitespace. Aubrey now is the opposite of the sweet Aubrey with a huge crush on Sunny/Omori. She's angry, she's violent, her every word and action declare how much she hates Sunny for leaving, and, unbeknownst to her, for having killed Mari and ruining everything. It also sounds so childish. Innocent. Something Sunny is trying to clutch onto, something Aubrey didn't want to let go but had to. It's like seeing two characters who loved each other dearly now tearing each other apart with flashes of how it used to be in-between. As for everyone having a Whitespace, I doubt it. Sure, it's only a product of imagination, anyone can have an imaginary world. However Whitespace is characterized by being a distorted version of Sunny's childhood and his inability to let it go because of trauma. Every character moved on and has a life they're satisfied with -that's why admitting the truth was so hard- even if they miss Mari. Aubrey has new friends she cares about. She doesn't NEED Whitespace and whatever her imaginary world looks like, it won't just be her childhood. At most Mari and Sunny would be there in the current time. I feel like it'd be like that for Hero and Kel too. Everyone may be a bit held back by the past but they don't want to live in it. Aubrey in particular just wanted her friends to be around. Basil however likely has a Whitespace or something very close. His trauma is closer to Sunny's (makes sense considering they were in it together), it manifests in a similar way (SOMETHING haunts them both!), he doesn't have anyone and spends most of his time alone. Sunny may have had also rubbed off a bit on him considering how close they were and they align personality-wise (and in hobbies since they were more of the creative and non-athletic members of the group). I could also argue that Hero used to have something close to Whitespace when he was depressed since he isolated himself and didn't want to move on at all. I'd imagine he would wish for their childhood to continue as it were and imagine it all the time. It'd define Whitespace as an unhealthy coping mechanism at its core.

I really feel bad for Aubrey, I hated the way she behaved at first, but then realized that it was very reasonable Sunny and the gang shouldn't have left her alone especially with the fact that Mari is dead, she loved Mari so much, there's an official artwork of her wearing Mari's outfit. She had every right to be angry at her old friends, they left her to mourn Mari's death all alone, she needed someone by her side (see what I did there?) jokes aside tho, Aubrey didn't deserve any of this, if ONLY Sunny knew how to play that goddamn violin
